This app manages the Bluetooth connection from a HomeBrew HBG3/HBG4 adapter connected to a Celestron Telescope mount, with the popular SkyPortal and SkySafari apps on a smart device.
One tap sets up the connection for using the apps on the same Android device. A checkbox also enables sharing the connection across the local network (WiFi or Ethernet). Dead simple, giving a reliable Bluetooth SPP or BLE connection that works wherever "Celestron WiFi" is expected.
The app can also send GPS data to the HomeBrew device, for use by Celestron Hand-Controllers and the CPWI app.
There are also menu options to explore and modify all of the internal configuration settings, including set-up of Wi-Fi parameters, for each HomeBrew device, and to view and interact with the HomeBrew screen/menus on the Android device's screen.
The app also features extensive session logging capability, for helping debug and diagnose issues with the telescope mount and accessories.
And finally there is an easy Firmware Update feature to check, download, and install the latest HBG3/HBG4 firmware directly to the HomeBrew device. This does normally require that the Android device first be connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (not 5GHz), though some devices like newer Pixel phones may work even when on a 5GHz network.
