Was better before the "upgrade"! I've been a Marriott app users for a very long time. This last upgrade updated the GUI (look and feel) but downgraded the overall app functionality. I usually have between 15 and 30 reservations made, the app doesn't show all of them and requires using the web to confirm accuracy. I'd recommend the revert back to the old app. It was much more useful. On the bright side, it looks nice.
New one button for all menu is horrible for navigation. Please add back in the standard "hamburger" style menu button everyone else uses so we can navigate directly to planned reservations, new bookimgs and account details, rather than playing Russian roulette and hoping we end up on the right one. If it's not broke, don't fix it. As a weekly traveler (platinum premier), this is very annoying.
Unable to link reservation to existing account and when try to use the reservations support number in the app, the number is incorrect (too many digits). I finally had to find a number to the hotel where I made my reservation and have them join my reservation to my account. Hopefully the next release is better... [UPDATE 11/2/17] - MORE IMPORTANTLY THAN ADDING NEW FUNCTIONALITY IS FIXING THE PHONE NUMBER. That was more irritating than anything.
Update Oct 30- it still is awful. Still can't use mobile check in. New review for the new app. I'm baffled by how bad it is. Looks good, but who cares if it doesn't work. Mobile check in does not work and judging from other comments, this issue is ongoing. This is enough to make me switch to Hilton. Life on the road has enough challenges, I don't need one more from a half baked app. Get your stuff together.
I like Marriott hotels lots. Staying in one right now but this latest app update leaves me wondering where they are heading. Number 1 irritation is that throbbing logo. Is this to emphasise with Rudolph as we head towards Christmas? Please remove it January. The rest of the app functions which is why I give it 3. Please let's see a better design in 2018.
Fraudulent pricing. If you search 3 day stay, only displays cheapest first night rate, not average night price for all 3 days! Next days cost 2x as much as displayed first day! Look at Hyatt's app. It lets you explore and save favorites by brand and points category. Look at Accor's full site map that lets you explore at a glance. Marriott needs both. Accor needs category list.
