If I was able to create my own morse keyboard app I can't think of anything I would do differently than what Mail Tap does. It's a great keyboard replacement. It's the only app of it's kind that I've actually tried but I see no reason to try others. I considered every similar app that I could find but I liked this one's description and user comments. I'm happy with my choice. It works. I couldn't find instructions for accessing the options screen. By accident I discovered that pressing and holding the lower left keyboard key does it. At first I thought a larger delete key might be helpful but the more practice I get the less I need it. Many thanks to the capable programmer who seems to be genuinely interested in it's success. I made a contribution because it's so useful.
Fantastic, but not quite finished. First of all, thank you for this wonderful app - it's easily the best of it's kind on android. I have a few issues which for now prevent me from using this as my main keyboard. Mainly, it'd be great to have some more customizability. The dot and dash character display is neat, but it wreaks havoc on my spell checker, so it'd be great to be able to turn it off. Same with the character suggestions - some might find them useful, but I find them distracting. Also, on my phone, the sound isn't working. Assuming it's supposed to generate a sine tone, pitch adjustability would be really cool too. Fix these things and I'll gladly switch to 5 starts. Thanks again.
Nicely done Does exactly what it says on the box... Great for cleaning up that fist before annoying people on the air with poorly readable code. One little thing (not a real problem): The iambic mode checkbox toggles the wrong way around, so unchecking it actually enables iambic mode and vice versa.
Great app for two finger typing. Needs way to turn off morse display. Very good. Echo of Morse characters often gets garbled by auto complete apps like google search. Needs switch in options to turn this feature off. Typed using Mail Tap.
cool app I like it. wish it could do straight key. the big buttons are nice, but the space and backspace are awkward. If you made the dot and dash thirds, you could put del over space in the last third.
The speed is a little laggy and the sound is horrid. But if you know morse it's a fun little app. I don't think that the developer is refining it further and that's sad because it is a good start on what could be outstanding.
Added Iambic mode and speed change dialog in preferences
