The articles are amazing and the design is beautiful. I use this app almost everyday and much more than most of my other article based apps. My main critique is in its navigation. The app only shows the most recent/popular articles in every category and doesn't seem to allow me to go back in the catalog by weeks or months. It's great for daily use, but I feel like I miss something if I don't go on for a few days.
After using Medium for a year, I became a member. It is a good experience but the member-only content can be improved. I do not mean to restrict more content, but maybe have something more exclusive for the paid members. I'm having a great experience so far. I have seen some people complaining of the new homepage, you can change it back under E-mail settings in settings menu; so it is optional. They are trying something new, which is appreciated. I like the new home page. Limited content according to the time of the day. Medium has been great so far, I hope they keep this up. The content is great and the writers are great. Bugs: Unable to read offline. I can't swipe from to-read to archive and have to click manually. Unable to read offline is the biggest bummer.
No History tab.. No saving the state on the app when closed.. The huge banner begin for upgrade that cannot be neither dismissed nor even scrolled... I understand, you owe me nothing but it seems that the app is getting worse with every update. :(
Need a lot of improvements in the app. The option to write the story disappears slowly after scrolling the feed. Can't give Title to my post by default like it's available on browser. I love medium on the Web but would like to use the app for convenience.
I absolutely adore Medium. The platform is beautiful, simple, and diverse. I gave the app 4 stars because of the way Series are being handled - there are exclusive features across devices and Series are not very discoverable. As this focus improves, which I'm sure it will, I'll rate it 5 stars.
Update: Some recent issues started popping up that I felt needed addressing. First, my "new from your network" is populated regularly by articles from only one publisher, none of the others showing up. Also, some articles have a dark background on the home screen for no reason. Likely a dark mode glitch. This app has slowly pulled me away from all other social media outlets. After reading about personal stories, technological fantasy, and comedic art, Twitter posts suddenly feel childish, and Flipboard downright bland. Seriously, the Medium community means business. Go ahead! Read away!
Read aloud and on screen web pages, PDF, DOC, TXT, EPUB and FB2 files and more.
