Medmovie AR1

This augmented reality (AR) app demonstrates the mechanism of disease (MOD) and mechanism of action (MOA) of a drug called Vorapaxar.

By tapping on the MOD button, the user sees a computer-generated 3D model of a blood vessel that becomes blocked because of unwanted clotting. A closeup section of a platelet surface shows a purple PAR1 receptor molecule interacting with a yellow thrombin molecule and stimulating the blood vessel clot formation that eventually blocks blood flow.

By selecting the MOA button, the user is able to watch as a red Vorapaxar drug molecule blocks the PAR1 receptor from activating the platelets; inhibiting the clotting cascade.

A narrated animated video that tells the entire PAR1/Vorapaxar story can be viewed by tapping on the video button.

Medmovie produced this app to demonstrate how AR can transform a simple printed piece of marketing material into an engaging learning and teaching tool for key opinion leaders (KOLs).
