Can you guys add a feature where we can leave audio messages like whatsapp and Viber allows. Audio chat is more convenient to share things like 'I have arrived , I am wearing a shirt black and blue jeans. I am sitting by the window on the far left when you enter, 3rd table.' Or I'll be late. I should also be able to add friends with the great friends i make on the meetups and follow their public feed of what meetups they are going to and all. Follow their public feed otherwise because there so many icons in my field I just want to know what they are doing on this site.
The update has made it very difficult to use. I reduced the 5 star to 3 after the update. Great app to meet like minded people but its only as useful as the people using it in your area. I did not have muck luck with it in FL or CNY. But its great in OR and WA. In fact in Seattle it's so popular, the hikes are full before I can sign up. So, I mostly hike alone even though I belong to several hiking and hobby groups. Plus many hiking groups in Seattle charge you for joining and ban you for not participating unlike Oregon groups :(
I heard meetup was great to further your business interests given that there are quite a lot of events directed specifically towards it. All I ended up doing was warding off creepy stalker guys from my message inbox and even my email inbox. No I don't want to have that damn coffee, I just wanted an equal opportunity to explore what's best for my business without being bothered by absolute creeps!

I just got home from attending my first Meetup group outing. I had a blast! I am now able to do things I enjoy with other like-minded people. It takes the stress out of trying to meet people who enjoy what I do. I can now be that social butterfly I have been striving to be in this new area. I recommend for anyone and everyone. There is something everyone can find on here for themselves.

"Oops. Looks like there's a problem. Check your connection and try again." This is what I see no matter what I try to do after signing in. I have a connection and other apps work fine. Edit: after reinstalling, the app magically works. Still it would be nice if they added more useful error messages.
I love this site. The app is pretty good. It desperately needs a hide function when I am searching for new groups. I am never going to join the lesbians or Mandarin language group, a determination I should be able to make once and not have to scroll past every time I am looking at all events.

Thanks for the review and really good suggestions! We'll make sure the right people at Meetup see this for you. The update has made it very difficult to use. We take reports like this very seriously and if you haven't already done so, email support@meetup.com. This way we can look into it and take any appropriate action. I just got home from attending my first Meetup group outing. I had a blast! I am now able to do things I enjoy with other like-minded people. That definitely sounds odd and we want to make sure you can use the app. Try reinstalling the app and if that doesn't help, reach out to support@meetup.com. I love this site. The app is pretty good. The features I like so far is the connection to your calendar. That's quite convenient but otherwise I don't have anything to rave about. There are glitches and sometimes crashes but so far nothing major to stop me from using the app.

The app became less usable after updating. When I went to the calendar tab, I was used to be presented with the oncoming meetups. Now I have to click once again to get to that list. Idealy this should be opened immediately after launching the app. Why do I need an overview of my groups?

Wow you have done so many amazing things already! We're glad Meetup is helping you try all of these new things and thanks for the review. This easy-to-use app allows nearly anyone to create a group and interest-related events in a snap. Group owners can delegate to Asst Organizers who can plan events and handle tasks. Cost starts out at 19.99 and goes up when the membership grows.
'Push notifications' don't take me to related content. Not happy about that. I dropped a star because now it takes 2 clicks to get to the schedule that used to display at startup. The calendar page looks like the start page.

This app has been a huge help with meeting people and exploring hobbies I never would've done by myself. My one gripe though is how sometimes I never get messages or get it days later. Please fix that bug.

Thanks for the review and we're sad to hear about the notification issues! It would help us look into your specific issue if you email support@meetup.com with any additional information. Ive been using meetup for a good while, a couple of years at least as an app, longer on desktop, but on the app, I saw someone viewing my profile in a new group i had joined and they were able to view interests on my profile that I had hidden in the first group I joined in meetup. I think the public/private groups and interests should remain the same across groups unless clearly/expressly/ explicitly changed by the user!!!

Latest update to the Calendar is a HUGE step backwards. It's no longer a calendar, more of a search engine for Meetup to push you towards events / groups you're not interested in. All I'd like to see is a list of events filtered for my Meetup groups, or for groups nearby, just like a calendar should be! Rapidly running out of patience with this App and their ill thought of updates :-(

We're sorry to hear about your disappointment with our new search options for Meetup events, we appreciate the feedback though and we'll make sure to pass it along. Keep in mind you can still search for only your Meetups by tapping where it says 'Your groups' on the calendar tab. App is good for what it does, but needs to have all the Meetup features on it. Shouldn't have to go to my computer to access a more robust version. Please allow document sharing again--this was a helpful tool.
Why have a Calendar view that does not order by date by default? Why make it difficult to view upcoming events in my groups in date order? Sorry you spent so much money on this rebranding and new version of your app, Meetup.

Thanks for taking the time to share your review and for your feedback. On the calendar tab you should be able to select the 'Your Meetups' filter to only see the Meetups you're a member of. Stay tuned for future updates to our app though, as we continue to improve the app experience. Group discussions are still unavailable in this app. Only way to find a discussion is through desktop site. It will be great if you can add the discussion tab in here so that people can follow discussions easily.

I hope you will bring back some essential functions back that were in the old version: 1. Saving an event in the calender should contain not only venue but also description and a link back to the event as it was before. Sometimes the events do not save, please check this as well. 2. Allow user to decide which kind of events he wants to be listed in the calender list, all events, related events etc (the way it was before and on the desktop version). Greetings

I like this app because you can attend meetups or create your own meetup. I also like it because most of the events are free or inexpensive. It's a good starting point to meet people however it's been my experience that people don't keep in touch which defeats the purpose of meeting people

When I first got meet up on my phone it used to be brilliant but since the last two updates this version is awful. The old version just got all my liked groups in my location now they have all disappeared and the new doesn't offer me anything

We're disappointed you don't like the recent updates to the app. You should still be able to access all Meetups that you're a member of in the third tab. And you should be able to search for new Meetup events on the updated 'Calendar' tab. If you're having trouble using either, reach out to support@meetup.com so we can assist you. Meetup is an amazing service, but this app keeps crashing (reported all to Developer Console). I've been browsing around for an hour and it crashed 4 times... back to the website.

Not quite as easy to use as on a desktop, but it's portable and easy to use. It would be better if there were more customization options and profile info, but for what it is it works great.

We appreciate the review and feedback! We're regularly updating and adding features to the app so we'll make sure the right people here at Meetup see this. The app app UI is too complicated. I can't determine what are groups and what are meetups. Please change UI logic completely!
It's less intuitive than the old app. I welcome a new app but sorry think it needs more redesign. Good try though
Great access to Meetup. Sad that there's no useful connection to Facebook.
MeetUp is a fantastic resource but the Android app is not user-friendly. It takes up a lot of real estate and doesn't allow for easy searches. Luckily I can access MeetUp via my PC.

The new interface is a mess and difficult to use. I have removed it as the website is still ok to use.

That is really great to hear, we're glad Meetup is helping you find new things to do! Thanks so much for your review. I feel like user interface keeps changing for the worse. I liked it a lot when they listed miles to event, but that is gone.
No matter where you are or what you like to do you can find it on this app. I have told others about the app and i have only used the app for about two days, great app.

We would love to look into this in more detail for you to see why that might be happening. Reach out to support@meetup.com so we investigate. It seems ok for local events where others are around and defenitly not really a solo event if your the quite type, you never know who sits next to you...
They used to have a calendar view where you could see all meetings per day. Now it's a random list of tonight, next month, next week. App has turned into a worthless waste of my time

We're sad to hear you don't like the new search feature for Meetups in the app. Keep in mind after you make your first selection, you can customize any filters that you would like. This includes the sort order, time, date, etc. If you have any further thoughts or questions on this new feature, just email support@meetup.com. New update isn't as user friendly. Not a wide variety of groups, maybe that's just my area or maybe it's because it costs money to host meetups. And group descriptions have a limited word count which makes absolutely no sense...
I cannot login from my Samsung S5 Neo. App just shows me a turning circle and says "logging in...". And I can't tell the app to accept the phone from my laptop, bus it says this setting is on the phone app!
Doesn't always recognize that I have the app when clicking email links to approve new members.
