I really like the application and the communities build with the help of Meetup, but I'm very disappointed by the Android application. The last 2 versions don't work for me anymore. I keep getting this error message saying "Oops, something went wrong. Please retry later" whenever I'm launching it. I'd really like to use it, but I just can't. Please fix this BLOCKER problem asap.
Very frustrating when it doesn't not search for my current location and doesn't work when I enter any new location other than my home. The new design is annoying to use, essentially it's 10 different ways to view a calendar and if I search for meetups in my area I get groups in the next town, bring back the old app! The app generally is a useless mess, people are uninstalling it, people are missing events because the reminders don't work. Useless app doesn't even let me see past or current events. They've got art people to design it not professional user interface designers! Shambles. I'm an organiser for a group of 800 members and I'm a software engineer, this is an embarrassing failure of an app. Also I can't edit people's RSVPs via the app.
The app is great for finding groups with similar interests in your area. It is easy to send messages to individual members and within the groups. However, it is difficult to receive a notification of a direct message from another member.
This app is horrible compared to their PC web based site. They need to work on it. Considering how much money they make in fees and cuts of dues and donations.
***Update: Bug below seems to be fixed now. *** In previous version I could open Calendar entry from Meetup to edit. Now I have to open Calendar, then look for the entry to edit. Why do you keep breaking things that are working?
It's too basic. It's hard to find meetups within the area you're looking in. The messaging section is both for comments on particular groups and private messages from one person to another. Just a strange layout overall
• Ongoing design improvements to Meetup Event and Meetup Group views.
• Minor bug fixes and enhancements
