My wireless carrier (verizon) is no longer going to support rcs chat, & they suggested google messages. I downloaded google messages approximately 10 minutes ago and already dislike it. I can't see my most recent chats from family and friends. There are a ton of ads to click through, probably to push you to pay for the premium version. Ugh, so far, it's garbage. I will be using Signal even more and finding another standard texting app. I do not recommend this app. Samsung S24 for reference.

Downloaded because group messaging stopped working on my default SMS app, but it's even worse with this one! Before I could see the incoming messages (just not send them), but this one just cuts all of them off, and can barely tell who sent it.

Scam - I needed to upgrade my Text App, chose this one which required a Credit Card but said just needed that info for verification purposes. Charges from an Escort Service both inside and outside the US started being charged to my card and luckily the bank denied payment.
