I'm really enjoying it. It's definitely old school RPG stuff, so don't be surprised if you make a wrong move, and die. FIght something tougher than you, and die. Have a lousy roll of the dice, and die. The old school games didn't coddle the PCs, it was life on the line from round one, and this is no exception. And yet despite all that, they're fun. At least if you do die, you can just try again with the same character or a different one. And if you live, you'll feel like you've accomplished something, even if the only thing you can pin your success on was eating lucky charms for breakfast. ;)
Was very excited to try this out but feel ripped off when I purchased 50 jewels for $4.99 and was charged but never received my jewels in game. And like another reviewer mentioned so many of the choices are unforgiving and lead to instant death. A bug in Sword For Hire when you drink with the one eyed dwarf and you get a stat raised it does not show up in your attributes
Tunnels and Trolls (TnT) has been my goto rolegame since around 1976,and the guys have NAILED it. The look, the feel, even the gonzo Anything Can Happen attitude - they're all there. Somehow, they've captured the spirit of TnT where one can, even in programed solos, roleplay a character as if there are limitless options.
Good way of playing old-style T&T solo adventures. Still challenging, really grinding little games that are designed to kill your character odd. But it's rather limited. Most of the adventures are 'mini' games, we need more proper ones like 'City of Terrors' and 'Deathtrap Equalizer' converted over. And we need to talk about treasure and items - you can accumulate no end of gold but there's nothing to do with it. Part of the joy of T&T is the ludicrous weapons list, the poison list, etc. Things to buy with your gold. Why isn't there an in-game shop? Lastly, character classes. Why aren't there playable rogue or wizard classes?
Far too punishing with ridiculously high rolls needed to prevent deaths. Some choices lead end up killing you, with no warning beforhand, leading you to have to restart the whole story. Other choices will lead you to have to face an enemy that is virtually unbeatable, even when at recommended levels.
Top notch app for RPG fans, certainly worth playing and not crappy at all. Would get 5 stars if they can just polish it up a bit more; less crashing, uses for gold, etc.
