You are an astronaut awaking from cryonics not in the solar system, but... out there... in a far and unknown place of the galaxy. In Out There, you will have to survive, tinkering your ship with what you can gather drifting in the void, and spot garden planets to refill your oxygen supply.

Space is an hostile place ; dangerous and mysterious adventures will mark each step of your travel. You will not only meet intelligent species that won’t care about you, but also deal with ancient powers linked to your destiny and the fate of mankind itself.

Survival and understanding of what is really at stake in the galaxy is the core of what Out There has to offer.

Had fun with this but uninstalling now. I really enjoyed the game, despite the randomness. However, the one thing I could not forgive is after dozens of plays, finally getting really close to a checkpoint, only to have my subspace reactor randomly destroyed, stranding me on a star whose neighbors were all beyond reach of the space folder. Also, losing techs permanently is lame. I get that the game is supposed to be hard, but that's just a step too far beyond fun for me.

I love the atmosphere, and the writing. That's pretty much it. Game is punishing. I've had electrical storms that damaged everything, computer viruses wipe out new tech, and just bad situations caused by the RNG and leaving you stranded with no fuel or oxygen (sometimes both). I've no problem with inventory management or difficult games, but it's just so frustrating when I can't do something as simple as drill for new items, use them immediately, build tech, and then leave all in one screen.

This game is designed for you to fail countless of times. Yet it's hard to out down. I have played it maybe 50 times so far and just when I think I might finally make it to the red, green, or blue beacon I end up in a irreversible situation that only leads to my demise. It is both increasingly frustrating yet brilliant. Pure replayability. Great writing and totally worth losing hours of your time.
