Engaging story with atmospheric music and fun characters! Plays like an enhanced text adventure. Would recommend if you enjoy sci-fi. PROS: graphics and story. Interesting alien language system. Lots of ticking clock variations. CONS: tedious replay when you make a wrong choice, and the alien language system offers the the only personalization in story, and is limited. Overall, I enjoyed it.
Finally got past the first screen. Nice story, quite long one as well, but I got bored in the end. Why are only four options visible and the rest is hidden? That was a bit annoying. If anything, I now want to play the original Out There...
I like it overall... It's no Lifeline, that's for sure. Also, once you hit an end, you can only go back to the last check point. But if you screwed up before that point, what can you do? Start over from scratch... Once you die there should be the ability to go back to any choice, not just one place.
I've made quite a bit of progress in the game. Then it crashed, and guess what? My last save was apparently gone, and it wanted me to start from the beginning again. There is absolutely zero chance of that happening - uninstalling.
I got to Port Carolina and hit a showstopper bug that left me unable to progress, but will have to start over and do things in a different order. This is a shame because I was starting to enjoy the story, but an hour or so in, I can no longer proceed. I have emailed the devs. Hopefully they will fix the issue and I will be able to upgrade this review. Being able to save and load other than fixed checkpoints would be very useful and avoid this from being such a big deal.
I bought it some time ago and asked for refund. Today, I bought it again on a whim due to the discount, only to be reminded of why I hated it so much before. Unnatural dialogues. Line of conversations that feels forced and doesn't make sense. Annoying spelling and punctuation errors. Makes me wonder how it scores so high.
