Android app so bad it's not usable. I use OneNote a lot, including on a Mac at work, PC at home, on an iPad and on my android phone. The android app, however, is now so bad at syncing that I no longer consider OneNote on my phone as an option. Even clearing data, cache, uninstalling and reinstalling retrieves out of date notebooks! A sync tool needs to be reliable. On the other platforms it is, unfortunately here, not so much.
No undo key? Are you serious? And it's just got worse. I've just accidentally deleted a piece of work I've been preparing all morning. And guess what, still no undo key. Bloody rediculous in a program that claims to be professional. Issue sorted. Thanks Guys!
Does not have an option to configure my spen button to eraser. Makes it harder to use than squid. Also, if taking typing notes and then switching to pen, editing can become a disaster as if you need to add spaces, only the words will move while the ink will stay in place. Not hard to fix on a small document, longer documents it becomes a hassle.
Incredibly slow synchronization, background communication with hundreds of suspicious anonymous servers. I do not like such a man-in-the-midle in synchronization of my data between my smartphone and my notebook. Why it is impossible to synchronize Notes directly with locally connected PC (see ActiveSync of old). The cloud account is required even for a simple local usage. I want to keep my private & business notes local, only! Horribly slow synchronization with OneDrive! Unwanted automatic capitalization.
It's very unreliable. Updates made on laptop will not show up on mobile app. Entire sections disappear with could not load message. No remedy suggested. It's well staying true to its Microsoft reputation.
Best note taking app on the market. Syncs will all your devices, and it's available as a web app if you're using a public computer. I use it for school, work, and home (recipes, shopping lists, to do lists). At work, the ability to sync notes between multiple personnel make it a simple workspace for task trackers and, in my line of work, media queries. Use the record feature while you take notes of a lecture or interview, and the app creates a small "play button" every time you hit enter, making it easy to hear what was being said at the time you were taking those notes. During lectures, you can snap a pic I of the white board from the app I on your phone, and the image will pop up in your laptop notes as soon as a you hit sync. For recipes, I'm not a great cook, so when I want to recreate my wife's recipe for meatballs (the best in the planet) I'll take pictures of her ingredients while she cooks and write down some explanatory notes on the important processes. During a crisis situations, I used the app to photo business cards, which gave me an option to import the contact info into my contacts list. Incredibly convenient!
