New update finally makes groove good After a year of having a horrible Android app, finally they update with a complete overhaul. All the features like better search, ordered by most recent, are finally here. Also looks like they fixed a lot of bugs like the sign out after a few weeks bug. There's a wierd sign in issue where you can get stuck before verifying your account with a code, but you just have to actually wait a minute or two. Anyways, improvements are all long overdue but good and much appreciated.
Huge improvement Looks way better on my note 4 and seems to run much smoother. I'd all but abandoned this app because it was so bad. I'll need to invest some time to see how the smaller details work but so far I'm pleased. Even gives more song info to my Bluetooth car stereo.
Nice to see an update but as much as I like the clean interface and the easy sorting capability until Groove will play the music I copy to the device it still won't be my player of choice. I have the Groove service, but on Android the lack of that key feature is a huge problem. I frankly find it bizarre it can't see music files on the device.
Search? I STILL can't search my own library?! I scroll infinitely to get to a different album? Do what Zune did right, give me a set of alphabet tiles for quick navigation. And please let me search my stuff. Read the uservoice posts. This is the same for the new, July 2016 update.
Doesn't read the phone library I downloaded Groove expecting it to behave like its Windows 10 counterpart and replace my phones own music app. Unfortunately the app doesn't read music in the phone, only music from the cloud. As such, it's a useless app for me. What a shame, Microsoft. What a shame.
FINALLY AN UPDATE! I had to abandon Groove because it was so buggy that I couldn't even get it to play a song. I've been using Google Play Music, but I am thrilled to switch back to Groove! The Groove interface is so much faster to navigate. I don't have to press back 5 times to find another song. And scrubbing! You can finally scrub to the middle of a song! -1 star for not supporting the featured playlists that are in Groove on Windows 10 and no Chromecast support.
