Soo i just finished it very good work on this visual novel best I've seen but seems a little rushed the story chapters are long and good but u should have some choices to further the story in the future.
Very good story. It was free of a lot of things that make me cringe, and that are found in most stories. Events are not sugarcoated like in most stories, especially fantasy : people actually die or get seriously wounded in battle, the main characters are not so superior to everyone else that they can win against an army, the local law is not forgiving of treason even if the characters had a "good" reason, and when made prisoners they are actually mistreated. It's not that I especially like reading about awful things happening, but I really loathe the way p main characters can usually do whatever they please without any consequences as long as they think they are in the right, and anybody who disagree with them or even dislike them is necessarily evil. Here the heroes are mostly treated like everyone else, they don't get many free passes on consequences (haven't seen any lasting, permanent effects from injuries after they have healed, but that may happen yet with Kes). The characters are more believable and likeable than most. Usually I feel like the writer(s) tried way too hard to make his/their characters be likeable and "good people" and then added one or two faults especially so that the characters can later overcome them and be perfect, and the consequence often is that I can't stand the characters in question. Here it feels different, they seem just... people. Not archetypes, not good people or bad people as stories usually define them, but just people. The plot wasn't predictable, and I mean that in a good way, I am tired of being able to foresee how events will end as soon as they happen because everything follows the same structure. I liked the graphics, and having sound helps a lot with immersion. The controls could use some work, though. Actions for example, whether attacking, moving or changing directions, are done with just one tap without any confirmation, so I often do the wrong one by mistake. Maybe change it to tapping once to choose the action and tapping a second time to confirm ? Also, you can only see the status (life, attack, etc) of characters during their turn. It makes choosing which enemy to attack difficult, as you can't compare their status to see which has the least life or which the more attack. It also makes it difficult to plan attacks, as you can't check to see if your next characters have enough for their special attack. Maybe allow to tap once on any character one to show their status, and if the target character is an enemy then a second tap on this enemy character attacks him while a second tap elsewhere returns the view to your character whose turn it is, and if the target character is friendly then a second tap anywhere returns the view to your character whose turn it is ? Then there is the turn order : it seems that no stat decides who act first, just one turn for you to make all your characters act and then one turn for the enemy to make all of his characters act, so it would be nice to be able to use your characters in any order you want (you could tap once on a friendly character to see his status, and then either tap a second time on this friendly character to make him act instead of the current one, or tap elsewhere to return to the current character). The upgrade screen could use some more information : I never know exactly what improvement will do. For example I upgraded block, and when in battle I noticed that the block chance had increased as expected, but the life points had increased as well. It would be nice to know exactly what each option will do. Also, the critical chance and damage stats are missing among the stats you can see in battle. A last point : I had some trouble with the training feature. The first time I tried I had to move a character on a small field to dodge progressively faster and faster arrows, and score points that way, but I tried again several times recently and no arrows ever appear, just the symbols on the floor. Aside from that I don't remember any other problems.
One of the greatest games I have played. Great storyline, keeps you hooked. Controls and graphics are both great. Hope for a sequel! Thanks for a great game, guys!
