ReBirth for Android, but better! The perfect app for a techno head. 2x303 + Sample based drum machine with a mixer and some effects. Simple design, a clean GUI with good spacing for smaller screens. There are a few more robust full-featured DAW/groovebox apps, like Caustic, but for the price and fun factor RD3 is hard to beat. A few features that I would like to see, Pitch control on for each drum sound and an option to import Waves to make your own kits for the Drum Machine.
Big update Before the Jun 26 update it was just kind of aright. A solid drum machine+303 app but really didn't bring anything to the table and could be criticized for being overly basic. But this update really made it worthwhile. Individual effects routing and 2 basslines at the same time. Really if you want a solid 303 and drum machine combo this is the cleanest solution to that.
I don't get any sound out of it even though it seems to work. Speakers are functioning fine. Please help. Funny, used to have same problem in the past with the pc version. Sometimes it had sound and was great fun, other times the sound was gone for no o vious reasons.
Nice simple app There are more powerful music apps for Android -- Caustic and G-Stomper are both first rate, for example -- but RD3 has its virtues even if you already have one of those. It has a nice, simple, all-on-one-screen 303 knockoff. Actually, it has 2, plus an 808. So if you like classic step-mode 303 sequencing with all the usual bits -- up, down, accent, slide, LP filter -- RD3 gets it done, and it gives you a few effects to add, and a drum machine to give you some beats while you're making 303 patterns. Overall, it's a little tamer than I'd like, but I was able to get a pretty nasty sound out of it by running the 303 through two distortion effects in a row. And you can always export loops and then add more effects on top in another program. There are a ton of more-powerful drum machines for Android -- G-Stomper, the BeatBox in Caustic, and Electrum are some -- so I can't think of any compelling reason to get RD3 for the 808-like drum machine unless you're composing loops for SPC (by the same developer) or you're already in the app using the 303.
nice update , but nice updates but an offer to RD4 to existing RD3 users at a cheaper rate would be encouraging also to those of us who felt left out when RD4 was released.
