After 7 days the app asks you to purchase in order to continue. I feel like it is doing a good job so I am going ahead. The recorded exercises are relaxing and calming. The app could be a little more robust, though: if you need to go back and look at the reminders you have set, it shows you the next day. Sometimes I have had to listen to the main lesson in order to get back to fixing the reminder times, and once it forgot what day I was on. Aside from that, a very effective package!
Aware was my first jump into meditation. I had been talking about starting for a long time but always put it off. Then I started looking for guided meditations and apps. But the price tags that came along with apps such as Calm or Headspace did everything but make me calm. Calm has a 7 day free beginner course and Headspace I THINK has 10 free sessions. Aware here has a 21 day free foundation course, which takes this app MILES beyond the others just with that. But when I saw that I could get a lifetime of Aware for 4.99, I could not pass it up!
I have severe anxiety and a lot of overthinking thoughts that tend to make the anxiety worse. My anxiety, plus insomnia is the worst ever. since starting to use Aware I have been able to let go of my overthinking thoughts and be in the moment. Before using this app I was skeptical but now I never plan to delete it. It's my go to help for my life. Thanks for creating an amazing app!!
It's been a long time since I last practiced meditation and I'd forgotten how peaceful it can be. I'm currently finding the foundation course very useful ... the guide's voice is engaging without being distracting and he's calm and clear. The pace of each session and the course are just right and the energiser sessions are very helpful. I'm not religious so I appreciate the lack of spiritual talk, but I can also see how for those who are it would supplement their devotional practice.
I'm new to meditation and I've been trying out a lot of apps. I've been pretty skeptical about it but I keep coming back to this one and now decided to upgrade. I love that the sessions begin with the sound of that beautiful bell...it really helps me settle and clearly marks the time as special. I find the guide's voice to be pleasant and he allows enough time for you to really feel what he's talking about before speaking again. I've only completed day 7, but so far there hasn't been any religious or "woowoo" overtones. I would definitely recommend this app.
This app is going to help me release myself from catastrophic, worst case scenario thinking. I can feel it in a short time!
