TourSEKY 1 Craft: "From Our Hands to Yours" showcases some of the best work from over 65 artisans in the region. It’s a comprehensive, full-year directory of major craft events, festivals and retail venues from across Southern & Eastern Kentucky, complete with contact details, event descriptions, driving directions and more.
TourSEKY 1 includes educational "diversions" that let you try your hand at playing a traditional mountain dulcimer, hear the sounds of Kentucky clay bells, plus follow links to videos of crafts people at work and discussing their craft.
Gallery categories include: Clay, Wood, Metal, Glass, Fiber, Mixed Media and Natural Materials. Featured artisans range from little known crafters to the internationally renowned like master glass artist Stephen Rolfe Powell.
Kentucky is a state with deep roots in American craft traditions. The state’s artisan heritage was born out of necessity in the 1700s as people made their way over the newly-discovered passage across the Appalachians, the Cumberland Gap. Everyday items that could be fashioned locally didn’t have to be packed in. Today, basket weavers, broom makers and blacksmiths produce their goods with many of the same techniques. And though curves and corners may change with the generations, each Kentucky wrought iron gate, egg basket or mountain dulcimer has, at it’s heart, nearly 250 years of refinement.
"From Our Hands to Yours" was created by TOURSEKY.COM, a non-profit organization, whose mission is to showcase the diverse, exciting and entertaining possibilities open to visitors traveling in Southern and Eastern Kentucky.
Requires Android version 2.2 Froyo or above.

This Craft and Restoration tour is one of two app tours of Timberline Lodge. It tells stories behind the lodge’s hand-crafted wood, iron, stone and textiles. Images showcase many of the lodge’s intriguing spaces, from the vivid glass murals of the Blue Ox Bar to the new winter entrance that glows like a translucent snow drift. The enormous scale of the lodge and its handcrafted elements combine to create a space both epic and cozy; work to restore and enhance the lodge has been ongoing since the 1970s. Today Timberline Lodge is both an historic treasure and an elegant inn with fine dining that uses local Northwest ingredients.
Come inside and enjoy Timberline Lodge! It’s been serving its owners, the people of the United States for 75 years. Afterwards, take the Art and Architecture Tour and learn more about this American treasure.
Currently the app is focused on the Kansai region with only one location in Tokyo currently in the list. Before I expand the application I want to get my fellow beer lovers opinions on what they like and what they don't like. I have a list of more locations and some features I'd like to add, so I promise you you'll be getting your money's worth over the long term. Just work with me and help me make this app the best Craft Beer app out there; at least for the Japanese scene, for now.
-List of seven great places to get great beer including a description, place details, available beers, and a story(coming soon!)
-Exact position of each place shown on Google maps for easy locating.
-A list of Japanese craft beer breweries with a small description of each(many more to come in the future)
Enjoy your beer, and tell them Cory sent you!
In addition to basic information (address, hours, etc), the app regularly posts photographs and new reviews of establishments. All reviews are from veteran staff writers that have actually visited the establishments; no information is recycled or rewritten from other sources, resulting in accurate, honest and informative reviews. Reviews are in English and Japanese.
Review pages include several convenient buttons. “Share” allows you to e-mail the review and essential store information to anyone. “Kanpai” (meaning “cheers” in Japanese) allows users to recommend the store. On the review page, users can also see how many other users have recommended the place. “Call” dials the establishment for you immediately (some popular places do ask for reservations!). “Open in Maps” shows you the location of the store, allowing you to plot a course from your current location.
Using your GPS location, we show you which bars, restaurants, brewpubs and retailers are closest to you. Expand or zoom in to figure out how to get from one place to the next (and the next…).
Located at the bottom of select review pages, the “blackboard” features specials and coupons offered through the app by the establishments themselves. Your potential savings are enormous.
How it Works:
The app uses cellular or Wi-fi connections to regularly update its content, including its coupons. This also enables GPS for use in the Beer Map. However, if you are visiting from overseas and simply want a static version of the reviews that doesn’t require a connection, the app can download the most recent data available to your phone. Since many of the bars and restaurants (as well as other locations around Japan) offer free Wi-fi, you can simply update your data, if necessary, when you visit one of these spots.
Future versions of the app, already under construction, will build out in exciting ways from these current features. Be prepared to know everything about craft beer in Japan!
About Japan Beer Times:
Japan Beer Times is the craft beer magazine of Japan, published seasonally in bilingual (English and Japanese) format. It is distributed to hundreds of locations across Japan, with additional subscribers in countries around the world. It enjoys broad support from the craft beer community and has gained respect for its balanced, informative reporting. Its official slogan is, “Bad Beer is the Enemy: just ask your doctor, counselor, or best friend.” Seriously, go ask. If they agree, get this app!
Identify every beer you come in contact with, anywhere. Speak the beer name, type it in, or scan a Bar Code. Access over 300,000 beers, and counting!

Is the beer lover in your life tired of swimming through a sea of beer apps, just to get the results he or she needs, on the spot? Well, they can stop drowning in their vat of beer apps, The Beer Expert App is now available.
Unlike any other beer-information app on the market, The Beer Expert draws from a database of hundreds of thousands of beers – almost every beer on the planet.
For either regular beer lovers, or true beer aficionados, the inability to recognize the beer that’s in front of you, now, is extremely frustrating. But imagine being able to walk into any package store, grocery, brewpub, or bar, having a look at the beer selection before you and immediately having access to every beer’s vital information.
this app provides that exact information and more. With a burgeoning and ever-growing beer market, and other folks producing beer apps, we had to create ours to be bigger, better, more robust and simply more useful than any other available. And this app will be attractive to anyone who enjoys beer, not only the "beer geeks".
By either taking a picture of the beer’s upc code, typing in its name, or speaking it into your phone, The Beer Expert will immediately provide the user with the beer’s commercial description, a.b.v., style and several user reviews, along with a picture.
And once the user has sampled the beer, if they disagree with one of the provided reviews, they can give it a “thumbs down". Likewise, they can give great reviews a “thumbs up.”
The secret to The Beer Expert’s comprehensiveness is it bringing together two of the beer world’s greatest forces;
The Beer Sommelier® and RateBeer.com, which is arguably the largest beer database in the world. This combination allows for simply the most comprehensive, accurate and complete listing of beers available in the world…over 300,000 beers at the app’s disposal.
** Please keep in mind that this app is meant for educational/informational purposes ONLY. It's meant to tell you about the beer in front of you now, that you may purchase, but know nothing about. It does NOT have the functionality for note taking...this is NOT a beer rating app.**

Folks, the data behind this app is crowd-sourced. In other words, if your local pub does not show up in the app it's because nobody has ever entered the info at http://beermapping.com. Rather than disparage this app and any other that uses the beermapping.com data, please pitch in and add the missing location.
Constructive feedback is welcome and appreciated. If you experience an error, please let us know so we can fix it and update. You can post to our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/BeerWhere) or with a Twitter mention (http://twitter.com/BeerWhere).
