This app is designed to recognize colors using your mobile phone.
Takes a photo and the color on the center is shown on RGB, HSV and HTML notation. Also looks for the nearest color name and speaks it (needs the Speech Synthesis API to speak Colors). It has a list of more than 1600 color names.
Useful for color blind people, designers, etc.
Due to popular demand, now includes a white balance option!
Can also share recognized colors by Facebook, Twitter, Email, etc.

Very good app, does what it says on the box This is very handy for colorblind people like myself. Like with all similar apps, you get best results with good lighting conditions (daylight). I find it great that the size of the app is small, cudos to the developer for that. Not every little app needs to be based on cordova. On my Vodafone 845 (Huaway) I don't get any color balance options even though the built-in camera app has a few options. A good idea might be to be able to calibrate by asking the user to print out a picture with reference colors on their computer's printer and then to point the camera to it. Then the app could compute the current bias due to lighting conditions on all three channels using a reflective surface (it wouldn't work on a computer monitor as it is itself a lightsource). Of course that would also be dependent on the color fidelity of the printer, paper and ink. Oh well...

Good Good app but there is no option ti shut down that irritating noise when taking a picture, would be great to fix it... Trying to use is on my new xpera S (jelly beans) but doesnt work :(

First off .. it takes a pic and not only that but clicks when it does. Lastly, the accent of the speaker makes me cross. Why not use the phone's internal synthetic voice instead of a speaker from an unknown part of the bloody globe.

Good start Good start but the camera doesn't adjust to different light conditions, which affected the colour it sees. But it's a good start and a paid version without ads would be cool when it's fine tuned

DEVS PLEASE READ!! I would be happy to pay $5-$10 for this app! Please release an ad-free version and I will gladly donate.

Great colorimeter! Complex color names, speach, and great accuracy (especially if there's a lot of white in view, so auto white balance is correct). Thank you! A+++! Suggestion: exposure compensation! If you have a big dark object filling the screen, it becomes mid-grey. Suggestion#2: white balance calibration! That would make your app the very best available.
Great for colorblind Great app for people who are colorblind. Fails more of the time than it should but does work well mostly
Was just thinking if there was an app that can do this, and here it is. Very useful for work.....thanks guys
Best app ever for color blind people Could be better if my phone camera wasn't so crappy, but this is a really good app for color blinds who needs to find a color !
Razor max Will not work on Droid razor maxx it takes the picture then shuts down. Have to uninstall. Might work for others.
Works perfectly. If only Google would make their AR glasses for me to run this app on... colour blindness would only be a problem when my battery dies.
It is good I really like it but I wish I'd had red yellow and blue
