YAWA is a GIS based humanitarian/ development early warning system designed to serve as an SOS signal for persons in distress to enable first responders/ emergency workers pinpoint with accuracy the location of the distress call on the GPS map to facilitate effective, efficient and economical responses and possibly prevent further harm by narrowing time gaps in providing lifesaving assistance.
