This was the most highly recommended app by different professionals I've spoken to, and it's beyond simple and convenient. I don't have to worry about my miles for a second, and I didn't realize how much stress that caused until it was gone. I definitely join those who recommend it, and wouldn't think twice about the monthly fee, since it's so cheap and ends up saving you money.
Easy, and you can see your deduction grow before your very eyes with each swipe. I didn't give it 5 stars because I don't like how you get multiple notifications for the same drive. Also don't like how it counts personal drives towards your 40 drive cap and it often splits up the same drive and inflates the total drives in that way. Also it stops tracking drives after you hit the limit instead of continuing to track them so you can classify them if you decide to go premium later.
Great app. I've been using it for a week and I've already saved about 60 dollars it tells me. However, after subscribing I feel like it has not been doing as great a job at recording drives as it did before I paid. The app counts all drives towards a 40 drive allowance per month, including times when you're riding for personal drives. That uses up the 40 drive a month limit pretty fast if your job is driving-heavy like me. Great app, could be a little better but it works well for me.
I've been using this app for almost a year now. I started it in February of last year I didn't even categorize all of my drives. I'm much more particular about that now. I was able to submit over $4,000 of mileage expenses. I would have had to say so many receipts and track every gas purchase an estimate my distances. This has literally been effortless. I was able to print off the mileage and send a PDF to my accountant. She was grateful that it was easy to read and she didn't have to sift through a lot of BS. The app continues to get more intelligent. Now it has categorized most of my frequent commutes between my offices. Very rarely do I have to categorize anything. I just check occasionally on the full website to make sure things are being categorized correctly. A word of caution. Make sure you're not using battery saver on your phone. I find when it's on battery saver it doesn't seem to connect correctly. I make a habit of just plugging in the phone when I'm driving.
First, many of my longer trips logged as the same begin and end location with no way to determine where I travelled in between. Also, I manually kept my mileage for months and this tracker consistently logged less than 75% of those miles. Would get a refund if I could.
I have had Mile IQ for about 16 months now. It was great for about a year but in December it stopped picking up some of my drives. I double checked all the necessary settings to make sure I was letting it do its job but that didn't help. Now it is really only grabbing the drives about 7-8 miles long or longer and certainly wasn't longing all 10-15 drives I have every day. Disappointed and moving on to try a competitor.
Thanks for using MileIQ to maximize your mileage deduction or reimbursement!
