Over all pretty good app. It could use a longer standstill time for stuff like stoping at red lights or multiple addresses in one trip. Also it only makes sense to make it stay logged as one trip while the vehicle is running when connected via Bluetooth. I make a lot of stops on my routes and it classified them as multiple trips. I use this in my recovery vehicle and run to 20 to 30 addresses in one trip, maybe make it a option to keep mile counter running.
I actually like the app because it's some what convenient. I have my job and two side businesses so I drive a lot. The app does not allow me to log them individually by business. I just make sure I make little notes to help. Some of my longer drives are always split up which makes filling out drives longer. Some short drives are not logged at all causing me to create them. But,overall all a good app. Maybe future updates will help...
I gave It 4 stars only because there are still a few kinks in the app. As an Uber driver we need accuracy and sometimes it won't catch a ride.(pun. Haha). Seriously though it's better than what's out there and I'm willing to stick it out with mileIq because it does a better job than I do, and the other apps.
Would be great to switch between accounts, we have more than one biz; also not notifying me or reminding me to classify daily, so now have lots to try remember if were personal or biz. I Like the frequent drive auto-classify feature! Saves time
It's simple and effective, with a clean UI, and has nice sorting, tagging, and personalization options. Well worth the nominal subscription fee for anybody who does lots of work-related driving. The only impediment to this thing tracking your mileage accurately is the user not being diligent about classifying their rides. It's easy to let a few weeks slip by, just to look back and realize you've got hundreds of entries that need sorting! So, if you're a procrastinator, like me, set an alarm in your phone to remind you each evening to classify your drives for that day!
I used QuickBooks self employed for a year. It was an absolute nightmare. It missed about a quarter of trips, long and short. Sofar mile iq is a beast! Low battery usage, pretty high accuracy, and the ability after config to remember where a place is named.. *boom* mind blown. Great app I highly recommend it
Thanks for using MileIQ to automatically log your miles. We’ve added a few updates.
- Work Hours - Set the hours you normally drive for work and MileIQ will automatically classify all drives outside of those hours as personal.
- Accessibility - Now access the app using screen-reader gestures. Just go to your phone settings and enable screenreader.
- Bluetooth Vehicle Detection – Now you can add your vehicle through Bluetooth and assign drives to vehicles automatically as you drive.
