Should have some mode, where you just keep writing without competing... I also do not like it keeps throwing to me the same characters to test, while I would like to do some others, too (my lists contain 100 characters)... otherwise, not bad, though Skritter is the best tool for learning the character writing. In any case, you can get this app as all the others by Train Chinese if you purchase the subsription at their website. I am more than happy with the overall offer.
Free version is more than enough However I would have liked an easier mode as after a few minutes it becomes almost impossible to continue because the time runs out so fast. Otherwise nice game to spend your time on. And you get the bonus of being able to write in Chinese! How cool is that!
Far too fast. Not an app for beginners. I doubt you'll learn anything. The characters get devoured far too quickly even on the longest time setting. Also the characters are too random, should start with 2 and 3 stroke characters and build the difficulty level. Stroke order of a lot of the characters is also different to what i've previously learnt. More an app for an advanced learner to have a quick mess about. Trump 2017. Things can only get better.
Odd stroke orders but good game A lot of characters have different stroke orders from what we were taught 15 years ago. Being forced to lift your finger on the second stroke of the 子 radical also makes it a bit awkward... though not inaccurate. Speed also gets too fast too quick.
If ANY of you can learn ANY Chinese from this game you are clearly a more intelligent, more highly evolved life form than i am. Yes, it is a GAME. Which sounds like a brilliant idea to make learning Chinese more enjoyable, and therefore more efficacious. But you not only have to know how to draw the characters, but EACH STROKE MUST BE DRAWN IN A COMPLETELY ARBITRARY SEQUENCE which is completely alien to non Chinese speakers. Nowhere in the app are the "correct" arbitrary stroke steps explained, you just get penalized for being wrong. NEEDS MUCH WORK!
Needs to detect strokes a bit better, and accept out of order entry but still count error. Error priority is a great idea, but I found that I did a lot of errors the first time, then did itnroght later, and it kept drilling me. I'd love to work with these guys to polish it. This is the closest thing to a typing tutor I have found so far. Crashes on android 7.1 other writing apps now can detect hooks and stroke direction.
Fixes bug and adds Paste function on search screen.
