Worst bank I've ever used. A €200 transfer has been stuck for 9 days. Support requested excessive personal information about the sender, including address, date of birth, and even a passport copy. After I provided the requested details, they stopped responding for 3 days. I was told the review would take up to 48 hours, but that deadline passed with no updates. App support only sends template replies and cannot help. Poor communication, long delays, and high fees. Would not recommend.

I have had a horrible experience with Monese. My account was deliberately kept at £0 because I wanted to prevent unwanted charges. There is no overdraft with Monese, so I expected that no transaction could take the account below zero. However, a merchant charged me £149.99 for a yearly renewal, which was previously cancelled it. Despite my account having no available balance, the payment still went through and my account was pushed to -£149.99. Making the account unuseable. 🤮🤮🤮

Fees are now ridiculous, fee to accept incoming transactions. when I first started with monese, there was a fee of £1.00 for withdrawals, wasn't happy but could deal with it. they then increased that to £1.29 with notice, fair play. they now charge to receive money into your account! I wouldn't be surprised if soon they increase the fee for this too! there is literally no benefit to using this account over other banks. I have been a customer for many years but I've had enough now.
