I've used the app on my old phone for some years and found it great. Quicker to log on than doing it online. Got a new phone and just read some reviews before downloading it and expected the worst! But I downloaded it and registered in a couple of minutes. I guess because I'm already a user it didn't ask me for my DOB, it just asked me for my passcode which is a 6 digit number that I use to log on from my pc. And that was that - I'm in. And it does all the basic things that a banking app should do - view recent transactions, pay people I've paid before or new people. Only thing I can't seem to do is switch to my savings account - can only view my current account which seems odd. Maybe I'm missing a link somewhere. So all in all I'm happy with it :)
App won't allow me to transfer to a known account or set up a new transfer unless I change my phone language from Spanish to English. This diminishes the convenience of the app. Surely I'm not the only customer who uses a language other than English? When I input the amount in a repeat transfer, somewhere between the phone and the app the decimal point gets turned into a comma, it seems, and then it logs me out.
Registration is a struggle. Something won't go in, and it's all or nothing. Name, date of birth (which despite complaints here, you can select the year without scrolling back through 600 months) account numbers, security information. Shame you can't just use the back login, or save it in sections. So I can't remember first school, why do I have to re-enter everything?
Utter rubbish One of my memorable names includes a full stop. There is no option to enter a full stop on my Samsung S7 Edge when trying to register for this app. Just plain sloppy and clearly not thought through by smile's I.T. department.
Rubbish. Couldn't get past the 1st registration screen because it insists on an 11 digit mobile number but I'm currently living abroad so need more digits to put the international country code. I'm a software engineer myself and whoever designed this should never have got the job in the first place. This is a basic design flaw that shouldn't have got past the first stage of testing..
Date of birth shows calendar with today's date. No-one is going to scroll back hundreds of times. Stop ignoring this by saying the control is provided by phone and fix the bug. No other apps have his issue. Blaming user's for your rubbish ui is an excuse.
