I recently changed my review from 5 stars to 4. The new requirements of "verifying" the purchase is ridiculous. I never had a problem and it is back to one a day for unlimited not 24 hours.
Its alright. I don't understand why apple users don't have to take a pic of their stub, can see a movie a day, not wait 24 hours, and don't have limited seats in certain theaters. I was told it was cause the theaters are being restricted, but my friend who uses iphone got to check into a movie that i was blocked from, i use a samsung phone. We found a show and i had to verify my ticket, she just selected and went on her day.
It is a rare thing when a new app comes out of nowhere and changes everything. Moviepass did that. They had it all on track. Then they made subtle changes. Then big changes then they destroyed their customer service then they made the app a huge hassle and they became obsolete. All in 2 years. A sad thing. Apparently it's not good business to have customers that use your service, they prefer to have customers who forget they are paying monthly. Consider Moviepass your least favorite gym membership.
I'm NO fan of this "take a picture of your ticket" crap going on. And with the latest "app upgrade" that has me re-logging in every other time I open it, plus with the recent comments being said - I smell bad times ahead!
Got it during Cyber Monday and has only worked 1 time. Then I sent ticket and receipt for another movie and was credited that back but have had to pay for the last 4 movies because it keeps saying error or the theater hasn't given them their movie list which isn't true. Oh and No one to call, it's a chat thing and they never reply. Went from $24 a month to $49.DONT WASTE YOUR TIME !
I haven't been able to check in to my closest theatre, a B&B, since they implemented online ticketing in this app, nearly a year ago. Having to call every time I want to see a movie has sucked. Now, they have removed the option to call for support. It's been replaced with a live chat system. I used to be able to call and get help, and checked in, within 2-3 minutes. It was at least 15 minutes before someone answered live chat tonight. I honestly thought it had crashed or disconnected. But, nope, after the nice manager at the theater let me in, and I had found a seat (because the movie had started), I got a response from live chat. THIS IS NOT AN IMPROVEMENT! BRING BACK THE OPTION TO CALL SUPPORT FROM THE SO! I hope I won't have to put up with live chat every time I go to this theater. That's just unacceptable. Oh, and this taking a picture of the movie stub is ridiculous. Come on, just remove this.
