$10 a month for a movie a day? Great value and so far the app/service has worked flawlessly. If this is here to stay this is going to revolutionize the way we pay to watch movies and in a very good way. No more rip off movie tickets woot! One thing that's worth mentioning though is their customer service sucks. It's basically non existent. I've contacted them a few times and never heard back.
Changing a previously bad review. I finally got the card and used it tonight. Everthing worked smoothly. Checked in to the theatre and movie in the app, then walked in and purchased the ticket. Card swiped with no problems and the best part is that it saved me money on the very first use. I got to see a movie I wanted to see that I otherwise would have waited for it to hit Blu Ray. They could use a little help on the corporate end, but otherwise a very good experience. A must have if you love going to a theater.
Great service and at this price I will be a member for life. The app can be a little tricky to figure out, but has worked Everytime for me. I'd like the ability to purchase a ticket in advance and when not at the theater, but I understand why that restriction is in place. I have not had any location issues when arriving at theaters, like others have mentioned. However, your phone's gps functionality is hardware limited and not an issue with the app. As a suggestion for MoviePass, maybe look into a mobile payment option. This could eliminate the card delivery issues as well as provide an on location verification, that doesn't require a goes GPS location.
The app itself needs some work and experienced a couple of crashes. Never when I wanted to see a movie though. Customer service is not so good but I hope they fix that soon. It took around a month to get my card, but it was so worth the wait. In the end, it always worked when I needed it to, and in my first month of using it, I saved around $50 and saw 6 movies. Amazing!
I waited several weeks to receive my actual Movie pass card. Then, after walking to the theater to use if for the first time, I was met with an app that refused to work. It just kept repeating a message that my "reservation couldn't be created." So, this far, it's 0-1.
Long story short, I thought this service was a scam but I was curious so I signed up with a credit card anyway. It's not a scam at all! I've seen $25 worth of movies this month, and I've only paid that $10 fee. It's awesome, simple, and easy to use.
