Only works half the time. Or less. The service is a good idea, but only if it actually works. The app can quit unexpectedly, not sign you into the correct theater, or not sign you in at all. Also, don't dare log out or use another device because you won't be able to log in again without calling the customer service hotline. Once you're there, they'll tell you that you can only log in two more times before you are locked out for good which makes absolutely no sense. We are paying for this service, but not getting what we paid for!
Challenging, neat service I have been using almost a year. Was forced to move from web to forced app. Easier to use but more sensitive. Just ran into the issue of moving to a different phone and login is rejecting change. Accuracy of listings is sometimes an issue.
Doesn't work as often as it does App doesn't work half the time. I've had to put on for a refund on several occasions after paying for the movie on my own card.
Love this app The MoviePass app is awesome long list of theater and movies. Has a record of my favorite theaters and all the movies I have gone to see. Easy and simple to use in 2 seconds I'm checked in for a movie and purchasing my ticket at the kiosk. Amazing service so fast and easy to use. Truly genius. Thanks MoviePass.
App is decent, MoviePass is GREAT! I really like MoviePass for what it's intended for, seeing movies! I pay $30 a month and I can see a movie a day at almost any theater. ** This app is only a tool for the membership** In response to some of the negatives people are saying, it was/is still in beta. They are getting all the bugs out (which does include sometimes not having your location correctly or closing out of the app) but you can get around these issues by just calling their customer service. Yes, it's annoying but you still get to see your movie and not have to pay for it. And if you do end up paying for it and you called (and left a message) they refund you! All in all, I think this is a great service and a decent app.
so far, not so good finally got my card and tried using it today. first i tried to check-in to the theater but it said i had to be closer to the theater. thats totally understandable since i was about 4-5 blocks away. when i parked my car outside i tried checking-in again. it allowed me to do that and said my ticket would be available for the next half hour. this was totally fine since i was planning to go straight inside to watch the movie. went to the automatic kiosk to get my ticket. i used the option "purchase ticket" and tried to use the MoviePass card when it asked for payment and it DIDNT work. tried it a couple more times and it still didnt work. by this time the line to the box office was very long and my friends had already gotten their tickets. i ended up having to just but my ticket outright with my credit card. if thats the case, why am i spending money monthly on a service that doesnt even work?? dont get me wrong, i have friends that have MoviePass and it works perfectly fine for them. only difference is that they all have the app on the iphone and i have an android. i dont know if that makes a difference or not but im not about to switch phones just for this.
