I love my MoviePass! I haven't had major issues at all. Sometimes I have to sign in again but most times it keeps me logged in for days. My card has worked flawlessly! Once you know how it works it is great. When you first receive your card you have to go within 100 yards of the theater. Pick the movie and time then "check in". That should activate your card. I go to the kiosk inside the theater and purchase my ticket. Always use "credit card" option, not "gift card". The card works just like a credit card. Enjoy!
You sign up. They charge your credit card. They never ship your card. They claim it's because they have so many backorders. But I find it hard to believe that it takes months on end to ship a plastic card. Also beware that only basic tickets are allowed. No 3D, Imax, or anything extra at all. You also must be within walking distance of the theater for you to even be able to check, which would be fine, except that feature depends on their app. The app is a bug fest. Call the exterminators because it needs a major overhaul. First year startup fine, but this company has been in business for 5 years. The app should not be that bad.
Works well enough. But the app seems very basic and could use some polish. It would be nice to be able to see showtimes ahead of the current day. My main issue is that it keeps logging me out, which is really irritating. That said, the service itself is great, pays for itself if you watch at least one evening film a month and it's encouraged my wife and I to make more time for dates, which is always good. We're happy to be members and recommend it to others.
Customer service never replies. Got both my wife's card and mine in about a week. Only problem was after getting to the theatre was both our cards said they were still processing. Tried logging out of the app and logging back in for the four digit pin from the card to activate the card and it doesn't let me. Gonna give it another month to see if it's worth canceĺling. Would love it if it worked, such a great service idea.
Don't know what all the negative reviews are all about, the app and the service has worked perfectly for me so far. I signed up for the 1-year service, downloaded the app on my Galaxy S8, and got my MoviePass card in the mail in just 5 days! Used the service to see a movie last night, and all worked 100% as it should. Easy to use, convenient, and VERY cost effective! I forsee I will be using this app and the service for a long time. Thanks for a GREAT idea and a GREAT service for us Movie Buffs!!
Based on the reviews here I was skeptical about the service working at all. I'm glad to say my experience was flawless. I got the card in the mail, went out to use it for the first time. Using the app I picked a theater, I picked a movie and checked in with the app once I arrived. Told the attendant my movie of choice, total was $16.21 for a single ticket, I handed her the movie pass card. She processed and gave the ticket. Easy. Ordering another card for the family. Good job. Update: got another card for the gf. Both cards been working flawlessly ever since.
Love Movie Pass & this app works well, while one does need patience in the beginning as a rookie to understand how it works. The only bug I see with the app so far is when I go to the theater to check in with a real theater staff, the movie I'm selecting shows up in my app Viewing History later, whereas when I pick up a ticket by myself using the theater machines & pay with the Movie Pass card, I don't see it show up at all in my app's Viewing History. Update: Customer service admitted there's something buggy about the app with Viewing History so their developers are working on it. Overall, again Movie Pass is awesome, & anyone who frequents the movie theaters should get in on this!!!
