CPWR-The Center for Construction Research and Training, in cooperation with the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), produced a series of training materials for workers exposed to hazards on disaster sites.
CPWR is a nonprofit that serves as the research and training arm of North America’s Building Trades Unions and as the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health’s National Construction Center. In this capacity, CPWR trains hundreds of skilled support emergency response and hazardous waste workers to protect themselves from exposures in a variety of work settings, including disaster response and recovery settings. CPWR works to reduce or eliminate occupational safety and health hazards faced by construction workers through safety and health research and the development of a broad array of training programs.
