Need to be able to work offline. Sometimes I am not connected to my Google account all the time. Because there is no Internet or by any reason I remove Google account from the cellphone and the player just stop working because it can't confirm purchase of the product. For me. It doesn't make sense you have to confirm everytime I use it that its a purchase version. There are other ways like checking once in a month or something like that. Now. For the android tv version. You really need to implement upnp feature to the app. This is a MUST for us who likes dlna server and support you guys getting the paid version. Hope this letter gets to you. Cheers.
Well I finally bought an App. Was happy but now not so, as what I could trust to play anything will no longer play certain types of audio. There is some work-around but it causes the whole video stream to buffer over and over. Apparently buffering via network and now AC3 codec is its downfall. Brilliant!
Amazingly, YUV turn my screen green after update from 1.8.0 till now! 1.7.9 was the last working version. Needed YUV to avoid stuttering on 10-bit video playback. Would give all the star when this issue was fixed, otherwise this app is the best video player for android period. Edit : Since it will be fixed, I gave 5 stars :) For now I stick to version 1.7.9.
Used to be flawless video playback from a number of different video formats bit recently have had issues so switching back to VLC. Always remembers where you were in a video. Needs a little tweaking (eg switching off video scroll on drag) but once that is disabled it's a great UI. VLC UI not as slick but handles all my videos & without having to fight to get audio codecs working. Needs to improve playback & installation to get back to 5 stars.
Needs support for casting, then I would give the 5 stars; it is the best viewer I've tried and was happy to pay for the Pro version. Support for EAC3 sound was missing (patent issues perhaps?) but I was able to Google for a solution and download and install a custom codec that fixed the issue.
This has been my one and only video player for every file type. As far as DTS audio files go there has been no issues with the right codecs. With the resume play it's a bit of hit and miss scenario as of late. Still all round would say it's the best video player on the market for android without a doubt.
