I have some video files AC3 sound which is not supported by this app!!! Is any way to fix it? Forgot to mention that kodi which is 100% free supports AC3. By the way, I use this app on a Nook HD+ running CM13.
Ac3 support or money back I gave it a rating of 2 stars. Because of the fact that it doesn't support the most common audio codec anymore (AC3). If it doesn't get its support back I would very much like my money back (€5.-). Now I have to use the crappy VLC player.
What a bummer. I just purchased the Pro version of this software. I got the paid version because of the good reviews and the hardware acceleration. Then I find out it will not play any AC3 audio. So NO Dolby 5.1, DTS, DTSHD, EAC3 or MLP will work. I got this program to play videos on an NVidia Shield Android TV (NSAT) device on a 4K UHD TV and 7.1 surround sound home theater AV receiver. There are all sorts of instructions or how to make sound come out of a phone,. But the Shield just upgraded to Android 6 (Marshmallow), and nothing seems to work on the NSAT. So BUYER BEWARE. I really feel that a flaw this serious, should either be addressed, or potential buyers be forewarned. **NOTE** Even with the third party codec for AC3 sound, it still downmixes the audio to only 2 channels (stereo). **Note Two** After owning this for a few weeks, I am upgrading my review from one to two stars, Mainly because the program's buffering algorithms are better than other video players I've tried. If it handled 5.1 channel audio codecs, I'd be giving it 4 or 5 stars. Just license the stuff and charge more for the program.
Still the best. I've tried them all, and MX Player has been the best for years, and continues to be the best video player for Android. VLC for Android had dramatically improved, but has not quite risen to the level of MX yet. Do a quick web search to find that codec your looking for, and you'll have everything you need.
No flv and dts.. This is hands down the best. But If only this could play flv and dts. Then I'll give it 5 stars. I had to install vlc for my network dts file
Disappointed! I was an avid user of the free version. Bought this paid version coz I thought it supports all audio formats (esp. AC3) but was disappointed to learn that it does not.
Added an option for selecting action on headset disconnected under Settings > Audio.
