Does it all After search through numerous Sight Word apps, this one won. It does all that you might need. Controls are almost entirely easy and to get 5 star, a little more flexibility around custom made lists would be great (say, being able to combine lists) Other than that, I love it. Now, to test it out on the kids!
Bug Could hear words and everything else but there wasn't any word on screen so how exactly will my daughter learn a "sight" word without SEEING it????
Love it except Love it except I can not figure out how to turn the sound off. I even turned it off on my phone all together and it still reads every word out loud. Therefore idk if my daughter is reading them or just repeating
UPDATE*** Words keep disappearing from my lists! UPDATE** I contacted the developer and had wonderful communication with them. They were quick to reply to my emails, address my concerns and followed up once the problem was fixed. THANK YOU! I love this app! I've loaded 5 different lists for my sons sight words and several of the words have disappeared from 3 of the lists for no reason. I can't spend the time every night to go through each list and figure out which words are missing to reload. I love this app.. when it works right
Of all the sight words apps I tried this one was the best. I had a little trouble editing and saving lists, but once I figured it out it was easy. My youngest enjoyed pressing the buttons whether she got the sight word or not. I used my own voice recording for several of the words. Simply the best sight word app out there that I could find.
Great app, easy to use, needs a few small tweaks I absolutely love the way you can switch between so many sets of different words lists (i.e. early 1, early 2, and all the Dolch words lists). Very handy, makes it useful for a broader range of abilities. Changes I would like are 1. the "wrong" button could be a little friendlier looking - with more of an "oops" expression instead of an angry expression. 2. My son and I both thought the 3 buttons (angry, medium, and happy) meant that the one I thought was medium meant he "kind of" knew the word. Don't know how to make this more obvious. 3. I thought "reload" meant it would give you a different set of words, once you've gotten a subset of say 20 words from the main list. It doesn't, it just resets the success/fail score. I'd like an option to get a NEW set of, say, 20 words from the larger lists of 60 words. The only way I know of doing this is to reset the number of words you want to get. 4. I don't like the noises that you get when pressing the success/fail buttons. I turned sound off completely to avoid them. But at that point, you also can't get the voice to read the word. Overall - great app, I like it a lot. Thanks for writing it!
v2.4 Bug fix: Adding a word to a list no longer deletes it from other lists
Bug fix: Properly handles user added words containing apostrophes (contractions)v2.3 Bug fix.
