An extension of the popular Rothermel surface fire spread model with full graphing capability and multiple model runs for easier interpretation and calibration. This is the fire model used throughout the country for management and research needs. Bring it anywhere.
Become more familiar with the model fire management depends on. All the fire behavior prediction you receive on or off the fireline has this model at its core. A more informed and observant wildland firefighter is a better one.
Enter the standard inputs of slope, wind speed, fuel moistures, and fuel model in multiple formats.
All 53 vegetation full models are included even the fully dynamic models; the standard 13 along with the new Scott and Burgan 40 are here.
Version 1.1 Update: The fuel model description page is now live. Photos and parameters of all 53 standard fuel models are now available. Fixed a small grammatical error as well.
Many more updates on the way!
The app is user friendly, and fully customizeable. Fire Accountability can be set up for your department’s operations in minutes. In the Set Up screen, you will have the option to pre-program up to 50 companies. This simple feature allows the app to be adapted for use in systems ranging from large metro departments to the smallest rural departments. Whether your department uses engine companies, team numbers, or a combination of the two, Fire Accountability will work for you. While still in the Set Up screen, select a Benchmark Time, default email address for time stamped logs, and you’re ready to Command your first incident.
Simplicity is the key. Fire Accountability utilizes simple drag and drop technology to track crews. After selecting from one of dozens different structure types and configurations, Wild Fire or Dive Rescue, the user will be taken to the Accountability Screen. This is where you will stay, until the conclusion of your incident. In the Accountability Screen, you will find a visual representation of the incident type that you selected, divided into divisions, along with your pre-programmed companies. As you assign units, just drag and drop them into their divisions. Using the “NEW” company icon, you can add as many companies to your incident as you need. It all happens right there. No jumping from screen to screen. The user will have a clear look at all of their companies, at all times.
Fire Accountability also assists Fire Officers in managing MAYDAYs. The MAYDAY function is one of dozens of great features imbedded in the app. Fire Accountability will also remind you to perform key functions, as the incident progresses. As you complete tasks like conducting a primary search, hooking up to an FDC, assigning a Safety Officer or contacting utilities, the application tracks your progress. Forget one of these critical tasks and Fire Accountability will alert to remind you. The accountability screens also contain a running timer, to help you track your time on scene. At your pre-selected benchmark times, the app will alarm reminding you to conduct a par, re-assess or confirm your strategy. All these features packed into one simple screen! EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE IS TRACKED IN AN EMAILABLE/PRINTABLE TIME STAMPED LOG!
We are continuing to add new features and updates. If you have any requests, go to www.fireaccountability.com
DISCLAIMER: Fire Accountability is designed for use on tablets. While the app will work on smaller screens, it is not recommended for use on screens smaller than 7”.

The map screen displays the before mentioned fire weather alerts and the latest bounds for named wild fires. You must zoom in to view the boundary of a wildfire. The map also displays satellite detected fires across North America. The bounds of any smoke is painted as well when it is available (that data is sporadically released from government sources).
You also have the ability to change the type of base map from Normal Google Map, Hybrid, Terrain, and Satellite. Additionally vehicle traffic overlay can be enabled which may be helpful in an evacuation type of event.
This app is intended for the continental United States.
Bug reports, comments, concerns will be appreciated!
Disclaimer: The developer assumes no liability in how this app is used. This app is for entertainment purposes and is not a substitute for weather information, alerts, forecasts, and warnings from official sources. The data displayed in this app is not to be considered reliable in any way.
The area is calculated using 4 corners of the fire. It calculates in 2 triangles to account for odd shaped fires.
GPS I also included three GPS formats. I found that everyone wants something different. So all are there for display.
This app uses the gps on the phone so ensure to close the app using the close app button to ensure that the gps turns off.
It pulls the nearest weather station and forecast for 3 days.
It also has the ability to share waypoints from person to person. So one person doesn't need to get all of the corners of the fires. Someone with the same app could get the other side of the fire and send them to you. As long as you both have the same fire name(case sensitive)
This was not written to figure exact size. Fires don't burn in squares or triangles. So this only gives a ballpark figure as the crow flies. I have compared the results with other sources and found to get the same numbers when comparing equal sized areas.

Wildfire Pro puts critical incident information into the palm of the wildland firefighter’s hand. For the first time ever, wildland and structural, paid and volunteer firefighters have access to pre-incident arrival information. Currently, firefighters receive little to no information prior to arriving at the scene of a wildland fire. Wildfire Pro gives responders visibility of homes in the area, creeks for water sources and areas for staging before they even arrive on scene. With this app, firefighters and commanders will be able to make pre-arrival considerations, allowing more time for critical life-saving decisions. The vital information provided by this app will save lives and property and will reduce responder errors in a critical time of need.
The app provides life-saving information for firefighters, responders, and residents of fire prone areas including current weather conditions at the scene of major incidents. As information becomes available, Wildfire Pro provides perimeter tracking and map imagery to direct responders and commanders to areas in highest danger.
The app features a suite of wildland applications for firefighters in the field. Common guides, safety check lists and procedures have been built into the app. The application also hosts fire calculators that will help firefighters understand how the fire will burn, in what direction, and how intense the expected fire behavior may be based on manual data input.
Disclaimers: Information in this app is updated as incident information becomes available and after the daily National Morning Situation Report. Fire perimeter imagery not available for every fire.
