It doesn't upload photos even though it says you can.. It makes all uploaded content as video and sends you an error message. This app would be wonderful if photos upload... Please fix? I'd be delighted to give 5 stars and recommend this to friends because it is better than the Facebook app, uses less battery and less data. ❤ please fix ❤ (Samsung Galaxy series)
12/16/17- Can't enlarge/zoom on text/photos. Can't copy text, even my own. Can't save photos, forcing me to take screenshots and crop all photos I want to save. Can't share photos from Twitter to Facebook. I can share to Instagram, Message, Email and Twitter (it gives 2 Twitter options), but not Facebook. Can't use Gifs. Notifications don't update properly. Because of these problems with Metal, I'm forced to go back to the bloated Facebook app, which at least has all of these features. I wish you could fix this, so I could keep using this app...12/26/17- Very unstable on Twitter. Pages close, repeatedly. This could be a great app if all of the things I cited above could be fixed.
I first was exposed to the concept behind metal using an app called tinfoil. Tinfoil kinda went away but i heard metal was hard on its heels as far as a lite. Version of FB that was less intrusive and less memory intensive. I have been overjoyed with my experience using metal. 2 thumbs up for metal.
Metal is a capable yet lightweight alternative to the native Facebook app. It doesn't track you and you can set how often you want to see notifications so it is friendly to both privacy-minded individuals and those fighting Facebook addiction.
I like that this app essentially combines 3 apps in one: Twitter, FB & it's Messenger. The interface could use a little work as I find some of the layout confusing, especially with search scope. Overall, it covers the core functionality that I want to do on a phone screen & if I want more can always pull up FB in the browser or on a PC.
Good:Works great. I use mainly for Twitter and if I need to message on FB because it still allows IM. Bad:Wish it would stay in Twitter when I open it instead of FB. also not refresh so easily at pull down. Try to view a post and pull down just a little too far. It refreshes and goes back to beginning.
