I think this is a great app - does just want I need, no more no less. Ah, except for one small thing. While I have it docked at my bedside and the clock is needed there, I also dock it on my desk, where I don't need it on - its screen dimming interferes with incoming messages. It would therefore be good if one could turn OFF the automatic launching on docking. Still, I'm happy to give it 5 stars for it's other functionality and simplicity.
Perfect night clock I usually use my smart watches to check the time when I'm in bed at night, but it kills my battery. So, I considered buying a tradition bedside clock, nothing was really suitable. I then found this Night Clock app and it is absolutely perfect for my purposes. The letters are big, bold, bright and crisp in the daytime mode and are instantly subdued with a single tap on the screen. In the night time mode, the letters can't be seen in ambient lighting but have the perfect illumination when it's dark.
Lacks menu for modern Android This is fantastic little clock app, one of the few that will have a completely dark background provided your phone screen is capable. However, this app has never been updated for newer versions of Android which get rid of the physical menu button. The last update was in 2014. And without that button, you have no way to change any settings on many newer phones. That's a shame. If it had a soft menu key, it would be perfect. It is still good on older phones, though.
As with every Android app, there's an obvious bug. This one is that you can not enter an alarm time by the numbers on the keyboard, even though it appears to offer that option. You must use the +/- buttons. 5 stars when that is fixed and an auto-activate when charger is plugged in after programmable time (say, midnight) would be a bonus!
Very Good, needs a few tweaks Stays on all night, ate up only 25% of the battery of a Note 3 (min brightness, airplane mode). Would really need an option to decrease font size, and move the clock around the screen to prevent screen burn - especially for OLED screens - and spare battery.
Nice clock, but I wish it had more brightness options since the two it has are both too dim. My main complaint is the virtually useless color selector. It's too small to use. The entire thing can be covered by your pinky finger tip, and you're expected to be able to pick a color? Good luck with that.
Some bug fixes, allowed move to SD. Removed ads and internet permissions.
