Radio Omega Sound, born on 12.12.1977, transmits in Stereo frequency modulation, on 102,200 MHz. And since 1980 also on 91,400 MHz. The first frequency is located on the top of the building where the studios and related offices are located, covering a basin of users including the municipalities of Anzio and Nettuno. The second is located on Monte Trevi Vetta Sezze (Lt); this system consists of imposing pylons and allows reception in large areas of the Castelli Romani, Pianura Pontina and part of the Frosinone area. Our broadcaster was one of the first to use digital technologies in transmissions using a computer for NO-STOP automatic programming, and the FIRST radio in the province to use the Radio Data System known as RDS. It was also one of the first broadcasters to have obtained the release of the concession for the exercise of radio broadcasting by the Ministry of Communications. In the year 2000 the control room was completely rewired (2 km of coaxial and optical cables of all kinds) and digitized for broadcasting; currently 80% of the music transmitted is stored in digital formats (Wave, Mpeg 3) using computers connected in Fast Ethernet Fiber Optic Network with 10 Gb Hub. and 800 Tb Server. All our systems are equipped with UPS uninterruptible power supplies to guarantee transmissions even in the event of a power failure. The entire network of transmitters is equipped with monitoring and telemetry for remote control of the technical parameters, allowing switching to RESERVE systems in case of failure. A team of specialized technicians reaches our workstations within 12 hours of reporting the malfunction even on holidays. Furthermore, our Radio is the only one equipped with Mobile Units (radio links) to carry out live radio broadcasts, furthermore by using Digital Codecs for Streaming controlled with a laptop we can make any connection from any part of the world in high audio quality, using ISDN telephone lines or Satellite Internet Networks (Thuraya). These are the purposes to offer our listeners and our customers a public utility service.
