Review from A Google User
News 24 It's boring SA news but as far as the application is concerned I consider it to be one of the best news apps around. I feel this app warrants a second review. It is still the very best SA news app on the market, I don't even know if there is another cause I get wat I need from this one.
It's a good app, they cut and paste most articles from BBC news website though which is a bit pathetic. recently though the whole app is covered in adverts through app as you scroll down very annoying!
To less updates of news news comes in drips and drabs. We need more news more frequently and less not news worthy articles. Also not everything is news breaking so stop sending a news breaking notification for stupid stuff.
Data wastage This app alone consume about 400 mb of data a month... they should provide and option to just view the headlines. Until u request images.. tht it pushes to the widget. Thats costely data to stay updated
Breaking news update push constant notifications to your phone for every irrelevant event every few minutes. Most annoying is constantly receiving constant notifications of proceedings happening inside a long stretched out court case. Every small step in a court case IS NOT BREAKING NEWS! I disabled breaking news notifications now, now I get absolutely nothing which is a pity. I would have loved to be notified of really serious major news events every few days, but not every few minutes of court proceedings...
Annoying There's an option to uncheck breaking news notifications but it's grayed out. You cannot un-select it and getting notifications at 3am is annoying. Deleting app if that isn't changed soon.
Nice It uses data. It has adverts. Buy a newspaper if you don't like it using your data or if you hate the adverts. Newspaper isn't cheap these days either
