This is a solid board game style RPG. If it has been a long time since your days of playing HeroQuest, you will find yourself at home.

Ratings and reviews

I love the Arcane Quest games, but this one is middling, at best. The same gameplay is present, all good. But the RNG favours defence; standing and clicking attack on the same enemy 20 times in a row because he has huge defence is tedious, not fun. You can pay RL cash to get gold, bit its somewhat pointless because items are related to levels, so you cannot increase your attack to mitigate high defence. As an aside, the Ranger ability does not work as the tooltip describes - useless ability.

Good old fashion fun. ALL of the Arcane Quest games are top notch. Couldnt decide which one was better so I bought them all. THIS is the one I continue to come back to. Love the permadeath!

Fun game, prefer it over the later versions - but it suits my playstyle. Have gotten years of enjoyment out of it, definetely a gem
