I'm a huge fan of TCGs, and despite its problems, MD is probably the current best TCG in mobile. The balance between paying and free players used to be better because of the many free ways to earn premium currency - these ways still exist, but pay out lesser now. However, paying the lowest rate of $10/month is very palatable and is enough to consistently get new cards. The game itself plays great and looks great. Opting for a very unique 12-card deck format gives players access to the entire deck at any time, meaning players don't have to deal with putting multiple copies of cards for a better draw chance and can focus on strategies. Battles itself play out very similar to YGO's 5 slot format. The artwork is top-notch and every card could pass for a real physical copy. There are 3 things I am unhappy about with the current version, though. Firstly, while the game is largely very balanced and allow for a myriad of strategies and combos, there are a few select legacy (now-unobtainable) cards like Nata and Seigi which are so overpowered that players with them have a huge advantage - It is time to revisit these cards for a balancing. Secondly, there needs to be more options for unrestricted PvE - there once was more, but a shift towards PvP modes has left a sour taste in many mouths. And lastly, for goodness' sake, please include a search option for cards in player shops - going through 50 shops to hopefully find 1 card at a fair price is quite stupid. Overall, though, MD is a fantastic game with great potential and fans of TCGs should give this one some playing time to decide.

The June 2017 update is something no one wanted unless you've spent money to get overpowered cards, which is what no one wants to do. Now that the daily missions are gone you can't just go and play the game with out getting your deck thrown down on and lose every time against someone who gets special event cards and is in a different country and rushes you as soon as your turn starts. I also see that a ton of other people brought their ratings down because you guys took the daily missions away and after the story mode (which is great by the way) you're just stuck with pvp. I've been playing and spending a few dollars on this game to have fun and create a fun deck for myself and few friends to play with and now that's getting dull because we can't get as much gold and gems to get new cards from the daily missions(which are gone now), which means we have to spend money that none of us will spend any more.
Game UI and music are well done. Need to know why chapter 6 is showing up on korean text as I have been waiting to continue the story.
Like many others, I am lowering from 5 stars to 1 after the recent update. PvE is severely limited and there is no way to earn gold anymore. We are forced to play PvP, but that is extremely frustrating because if you don't have a few select overpowered cards, you will lose 95% of the time. (The current meta strategy is to hang on until you can play an Ultimate card at level 3 and then win instantly; a weak and unimaginative game model.) I plan on leaving the game until you 1) restore PvE and gold earning, and 2) balance the cards better so that a variety of strategies can be used. Edit: raised to 3 stars after prompt customer service response and new CGC update which brought single player back. Nerfing the op cards to provide better balance will earn 5 stars.
Best tcg on android hands down, tried a lot of the but none come close to the depth and polish this game brings
