Review from Mike Koser
Finally fixed staying logged in! Now that staying logged in is fixed, I'd say the app is getting better. Quality looks great on my SGS3 and Xios DS running Android on my 46" TV. Keep fixing bugs and it will be great.
Nothing in the app opens properly anymore. Was much easier to navigate when I could just tap the game on home page and go directly to a variety of game info. Why make it more complicated rather than less. Every year you screw up the app mid season. Haha you have the Leafs and Rangers in the wrong divisions for playoffs!
This app is so much worse than the native flames app was. It's slow and clunky and the push notifications aren't working at all. Why does NHL need to ruin something that was working before? Ah yes, total control... They need total control. Update: notifications work as of last update so I added a star.
The app sucks, have had to unistall and reinstall several times because notifications wouldnt show up and that was the only fix. Now that notifications are working half of them are just an ad to get nhl premium. Which is extremely annoying. The swiping is extremely rough and the app is poorly maintained as far as known bugs and issues and how long they take to get fixed. Barely even want to waste the space to keep it on my phone anymore.
Decent app, the ps4 app is garbage for streaming games since it barely ever streams in hd but if I stream using my chromecast it works great and I always get full hd. What's up with that? Layout of the app isn't really that intuitive for streaming games, the ui seems a little clunky and unpolished. But, overall it gets the job done.
Pretty good overall. Some hiccups in navigation and news. Two suggestions - when I press on a news article notification, open straight to that article, not to my team schedule. Second - a checkbox on game pages that says "I am watching this game live" and suppresses notifications. I don't need you telling me we just got scored on, I saw it happen!
By the 3rd period games are unwatchable when streaming to chromcast. Buffers every couple minutes. Absolutely brutal streaming service. Wifi isn't the issue as there are no issues with other streaming apps on the same device. Will not buy another season until issues are fixed
We've got a packed update for you. Streaming games with your NHL.TV subscription? Good news, now when you're on WiFi, you'll see hockey in 60 frames per second. You'll see, it's life changing. If you want to watch in High Quality on your Cellular network, you can configure that in Settings.
Next time you're checking the scores, take a look at the clocks, and notice how they tick with game action. Pretty cool, eh? We call it ticking clocks and it's exclusively in the NHL app.
