This app has got me walking more then I usually would, so that means it's a success! I think to truly be the best, it needs to enable a non AR version of the catching screens that still utilizes the camera, considering how the non AR version works anyway. I think some things about gyms should be more evident in the game too. I like the full Pokédex! It's even better now with the addition of more Pokémon and berries, but I wish there were a simpler way to earn those in game coins besides just buying them!
Overall this game has one thing right: catching Pokemon in a realistic type feel instead of on the normal Nintendo Pokemon games. You can go outside to find them instead of sitting in your room on your device. It gets more people out and active which is good, but this game is far from perfect. There are still many additions and fixes on this game that need to be made, but overall this game makes me feel like I'm a kid again playing Pokemon silver on my game boy advance.
I love how Pokemon Go brings people together and gives me a reason to go walk around outside with my friends. It gets better with each update, and Niantic has been steadily improving their response to the fans; everything we've asked for is either here or coming. Not too easy, not too hard. Just challenging enough to be fun, especially with friends!.
Gameplay is poor to nonexsistant. Pokémon randomly jumping out of balls does not feel like something the player can interact with. Gyms consolidate power (Gold and Dust) in those whose are already the most powerful in an area. The XP awarded for fighting one is too low to be worthwhile.
This game could be a whole lot better if they take off the speed caps! I can't always slow down to 20 mph so my sons can get the pokestops & you can drive right past a rare Pokemon because nothing is in the nearby area because of the stupid speed cap! If people get into accidents cause of a game thats their problem for not paying attention
I got bored and looked at the comments. One big thing I see is people moaning about the 20mph limit. The game is designed for you to walk not drive around. When I'm at home my nearest stop is 10 min walk away so guess what I have a walk down when I am not working. I usually grab my kid along as well. And yes I have been in the rain just to keep the streaks going.
