About this game

Welcome to the world of Ingress Prime, Agent. The fate of this universe, and perhaps others, depends on you. The discovery of Exotic Matter (XM), a resource of unknown origin, has sparked a covert struggle between two Factions. Cutting-edge XM technologies have completely transformed the Ingress Scanner, and it is now waiting for you to join this battle.

THE WORLD IS YOUR GAME
Explore the world around you and interact with places of cultural significance—such as public art installations, landmarks, and monuments—to collect valuable resources using your Ingress Scanner.

CHOOSE A SIDE
Fight for the Faction you believe in. Harness the power of XM to evolve mankind and discover our true destiny with The Enlightened, or protect humanity from a hostile takeover of the mind with The Resistance.

BATTLE FOR CONTROL
Dominate territories by linking Portals and creating Control Fields to achieve victory for your Faction.

WORK TOGETHER
Strategize and communicate with fellow Agents in your neighborhood and around the world.

Agents must be over 13 years old (for residents outside of the European Economic Area); or over 16 years old or such age needed to consent to the processing of personal data in the Agent's country of residence (for residents of the European Economic Area). Unfortunately, no children may play Ingress.

After using the new app for some time (and after noticing that many bugs have been fixed) I'm struggling with a new problem that seems to have appeared with the last update. If I have to perform a fresh app start on a device (either because the device has been rebooted or because the app has been terminated by the OS) it very frequently happens that i see the faction choose screen after app start completion (as if i would start the app for the first time). In some cases I had given up attempting to play at all after about 10 failed attempts to have the app come up normally. Usually it takes around 5 to 10 attempts to get into my normal app screen. I'm somewhat concerned that this bug might somehow damage my account (level 13 after first recursion). Happens on both a Google Pixel 3 and a Google Pixel 3 XL, both with Android 10. This bug is very annoying as I'm more or less forced to avoid (for example) taking pictures with the device as this usually terminates the app and a restart is painful and time consuming. I'm planning to go on vacation soon and thinking about taking two phones with me, one to take pictures and one to play Ingress to avoid the restart issues with the app, thanks to the buggy app. Cannot believe the app isn't able to log into my account normally. Very annoying... All in all, despite the bugs which have been fixed and some usability improvements, the new app is really a pain compared with the old scanner which had been very stable and reliable and also battery friendly. Why wasn't it possible to just add the usability improvements to the old scanner instead of forcing players to use the new app with fancy graphics and lots of bugs which make playing a pain and which drains the battery about twice as fast? ... Edit: Just needed 13 (!) app restarts to be able to play normally. Are you serious?

I used to love ingress. The interface was simple and clean and easy to handle for everyone. And it was fast! Now with ingress prime it takes me ages to get to where I want to, the interface is way too overloaded with things. You have to consider that a phone screen is small. This is too much happening to be able to properly keep track of what you want to do. I like the new design of the inventory and weapons. That's sadly pretty much the extend of what I like on the new version...

After the upgrade from ingress to prime, I was disappointed. It is not running smoothly on a Samsung S9. It feels laggy. The redesign is good, as the buttons are somehow randomly spread over the screen it is hard to play as used and quick. Resonator placement is difficult to see because the portal picture overlaps it. Attacking is more difficult, as the UI behaves sluggish and very different to the previous scanner app. I would like to downgrade.
