The content of the app is spectacular! I've really enjoyed the interface and found Coban to be helpful in brushing up on my Japanese. There are a couple issues, though: -When completing a lesson, the screen will sometimes go blank and force you to restart the app. -The AI voice which reads sentences does not separate the words well (even less than Japanese people I've spoken to) The app is wonderful, but it still needs some polish, in my opinion.

Thanks for your helpful feedback! As a native Japanese teacher, I review the audio files. About 99% sound natural, despite their formal tone. Native speech might seem less word-separated but it's normal. The faster pace, compared to beginner audios, aids in improving listening. For more, contact me at nihongo.library@gmail.com. Best regards.

I like it, but I filled out every question on the N4 practice exam and was confused when several were marked incorrect while still showing my answer (which I believed was correct). The correct answer is only indicated in red text, not by the radio buttons. This was confusing and made me think the app was broken. Adding a green "correct" radio button on review would help clarify this. Also, not enough content for higher level learners, like most apps.

This app understands language acquisition. First it makes sure you can read kana, then you get bite-size grammar and vocab lessons; But that is not the best part. The reading sections are perfect for getting comprehensible input as an absolute beginner. It shows the necessary furigana, and you can tap a word to see its translation. The 'books' provide additional per-line translations if necessary. On top of that the user experience is great. The UI is cute and easy to navigate. And it's cheap!
