Review from James Banks
Wmau Works excellent, connects in a snap, and I love the option to use my Galaxy S 3 to release the shutter on my Nikon D3200
Mostly useless While being able to take a photo remotely with your phone is neat, it takes so much time that you might as well ask someone else to do it. If you have more than 100 photos on your SD card, don't bother trying to load them on your phone to review them. The app will "download" them but not display them. I've found a work around for it by selecting a few to download to my phone which is convenient but I find it to be the only good part of the app. Running on a Galaxy Note 3 with lollipop.
Pretty good app, needs a few tweaks. I like the app so I can transfer and post pictures on the go, BUT it really needs to kill the app when you close it and not require you to click "exit" to do so. Also I can download the original size resolution but only if I select the pictures individually. That would be an easy fix. Does sometimes disconnect from camera randomly too
WILL NOT CONNECT Just downloaded the app today and have been trying to use it. I have turned on the WiFi on my camera and connected it to my phone, but when I open the app it says that the camera is not connected to my phone. I AM connected to the camera, but the app says I am not.... so which is it? I like the idea, but I think you need to fix it. The WiFi is built into the camera yet we cannot use it without the app...... that makes no sense. We should be able to send the pics to our email or Dropbox other than this app..
Loved this app but no longer working on latest Android 5.1 Using a Nikon D500 and since upgrading my tablet to Android 5.0, the utility no longer allows to connect to view/transfer pics on the camera. Pls fix and this and the app will be 5 stars for me again. Thanks :) 9th May 2015 update. Now listed for Nexus 7 as compatible with 5.1 OS however still not working. :(
Nikon is missing common sense settings/options I have an AW130, which saves photos as jpg which even on high quality, still means compressed. In this app there are no settings to copy over the full size image in bulk. The last thing i think your customers would want is to recompress an already compressed image. This takes away quality of the photo even further. In settings for the app you list "VGA" or "Recommended." Both option reduce quality. If you add pictures one by one you have to select original size for each one.
Needs fixed, won't stay connected Apt needs serious work! It continuously drops connection to my Nikon D3200 using the WU-1a WIFI adapter to connect to my LG-d415 using Android 5.0.2. After a few hrs I got 2 pictures taken and uploaded to my smart phone. If I can't get support I will return the wireless adapter. It would be a great product of it works. Nikon please help!
-The app now supports the Nikon 1 J5.
-The app now supports brightness adjustment via live image control on the Nikon 1 J5.
