Awesome app. But latest version removed a decimal of precision in measurements. CIELAB values used to be reported as XX.XX but now only show XX.X which is a shame, because the device still measures with high precision, but the app won't display it. You can see two digits of precision in screenshots, but when you install, it is only one digit. I realize that when you export the data, the precision is there. But exporting takes time and for fast usage, that is impractical. Will be 5 stars when precision is restored.
Note: review specific to paint matching. Okay first off this is an awesome app that functions just like it's supposed to. We just got one at work(at a paint store) and I've had a couple of dark colors that this has saved me hours trying to match by eye. It does seem to have trouble with off whites, and greens(our $6k electronic eye has a hard time with green as well) but I've found matches for red colors that are awesome. For a home owner or professional trying to get a quick color reference this tool is perfect but I'd still get a color card to double check before buying paint based on Nix's scan.
Amazing tool As a graphic designer I need to color match often. This throws out the lengthy processes of color matching. Forget color chips, color books, color systems, this is where it's at. Now half the battle is taken care of by the Nix color sensor. Now to match the printers pesky profiles. (Print pros know what I mean)

It works great. Does anyone knows if this will also works with android emulator on PC?
After over 2,200 color scans I must say that I am incredibly pleased with this app, the Nix Scanner and the company.— It is easy to use and understand. - Very accurate —Has 5 different ways to present the color values - Color fidelity is great on iPhone. Darn good even on my Samsung Android which is known to have a screen with a definite color shift to the blue. — The company is VERY responsive to user questions and goes above and beyond the call of duty to help. My Nix had a minor glitch at the worst possible time for me. I emailed the Nix folks at what was 9:00pm their local time. And Zachary responded within 15 minutes! He asked good, clarifying questions and made sure that I took the proper steps to protect my precious color data. — Note: This app and product will not give good results with materials that contain contrasting glitter or have translucency in a thicker sample. Then the colors come out much darker. I think because the light just wanders around inside the sample before getting back to the Nix Sensors instead of just bouncing directly off the surface. This is NOT any defect in this hardware or the app, just something to keep in mind when you use the Nix and app.
- Update to allow the importing of color libraries in *.nix file format
- Minor updates to bundled color libraries
