Like other reviewers, I love the concept and basic functionality but the interface needs significant improvement. The one major request that I have is simply making the app remember the page I was on when I last opened a piece of music. I'm working my way through a long etude book and having to click forward all the pages to my current etude each day is very annoying.

Hi David - thanks for your review and feedback. We really appreciate it! A feature for remembering the last place in a score will be implemented in future updates, as we realise how useful this is. This is currently a feature in our iOS music reader but we plan to implement this feature and more into future Android builds. Thank you.

The intention/idea behind the app and service is good. However, there is not a very intuitive way of searching for music. You cannot browse categories. I'm an alto sax player, and there is not really popular jazz music to pick from, which is a little misleading since you have the option to select "jazz" as a category of interest when you customize your experience for instruments you play. Although given a free trial, I wish I could see what pieces/artists would be available before signing up.

Thank you for your constructive review of nkoda. We're glad to hear that you appreciate our mission, but we're sorry that you're not a fan of the app itself. Our library expands every day and we're working tirelessly to refine our search engine and the app interface, so hopefully it won't be long before our service meets your requirements!

I am using nkoda as a composition teacher and orchestra librarian. First of all, the collection of scores and the ability to connect to scores directly from Zinfonia is a huge plus. There have already been instances in my job where being able to call up the score in nkoda has helped us determine instrumentation of a work. I think this app has very strong potential. Where I find there could be some improvement is the view on desktop or lap top screens along with an improved zoom tool. On a standard laptop screen it is difficult to see the details in a full orchestra score. I often have to share my findings with conductors, the orchestra manager, and artistic admin staff. I would appreciate the ability to either share a score with a collegue who is not a nkoda subscriber, even if it is for only 24 hours, or even the ability to give a collegue a temporary log in to view a score through my subscription (possible features for a professional subscription level). I feel that this would make this very useful in a professional situation. I do struggle a bit with the "click on screen" page navigation. I have yet to figure out exactly where to click on the string to consistently advance the pages, I most often end up leaving the page view. The arrow keys do work well.

Thank you for your detailed and constructive review, Christopher. We're glad to know that there are so many aspects of nkoda that impress you. We will take your suggestions with regard to sharing scores on board, but as for page navigation, try tapping in the top or bottom corners of your screen to turn pages, as opposed to centre-right or left!
