Stellarium - Star Map is a planetarium app that shows exactly what you see when you look up at the stars.

Identify stars, constellations, planets, comets, satellites (such as the ISS), and other deep sky objects in real time in the sky above you in just a few seconds, just by pointing the phone at the sky!

This astronomy application has an easy to use and minimalist user interface, that makes it one of the best astronomical applications for adults and children who want to explore the night sky.

Stellarium contains in-app purchases allowing to upgrade to Stellarium Plus. With this upgrade, the app will display objects as faint as magnitude 22 (versus magnitude 10 in the base version) and enable advanced observing features.

READ BEFOR GETING Definitely a good app. very interesting in lots of information. smith processing and good coloring. Complaints would be sometimes zooming in is hard, It will sort of go off kilter, can be confusing without explanation of why zooming out will suddenly show you coordinates or things like that It would be nice if it were more obvious. What things were expected later in the day versus happening right now when you look at it in the day time. for more advanced astronomers.

I had this app for years. When the developer went "public" and asked for money for a pro version, I was disappointed. I stayed with the free version and have only good things to say. the app has all the features I need and it continues to update and improve. No ads - thank you. I'm happy to donate. I'm also using the desktop version of the program.

IMO, Stellarium is the best Astronomy software there is. Real-time navigation just pointing up to the night sky, with an immense database of stars and objects. One thing I'd like to see implemented in this app is when selecting a multiple star, it would be great to have the separation in arc seconds displayed in the description - instead of having to go to Wikipedia.
