I wanted a VPN for P2P and bypassing regional blocks on streams o Australia . The first worked well but I just could not get US Netflix to stream reliably via their US servers (or any other region of Netflix). On phones and tablets it kept erroring out with the VPN on. On a Windows desktop, it streams at a horrible maximum 360p resolution while randomly crashing the video. With the VPN off, Netflix worked perfectly fine at 1080p on all devices.
Great app from the point of view of a) usability, b) battery use (no noticeable issue) and c) speed (no noticeable issue). It does disconnect when moving between networks but usually seems to reconnect in a few seconds. However, not always. Sometimes it sort of gives up and you have to restart it. It seems to block connections in the meantime. More worrying, however, was twice today it dropped out completely with no warning or error. Just went back to the phone to find the VPN was down. Want to like this solution as a whole so hopefully these glitches will iron themselves out. After a couple of months the connection problem persists, despite updates...
I bought this service to use on a Sony Android TV and a tablet. The app only loads in portrait orientation. Natively it does not provide landscape mode. Tech support suggested using an Android app "Set Orientation" to force landscape mode for all apps. It had to be sideloaded as it is not available on the Google Play Store for Android TV. Once loaded worked ok on the tablet, but when used on the Sony TV the NordVPN app is distorted and almost unuseable. You would think the "#1 VPN" would auto detect the device type and load properly in the orientation of the device. Also, performed speed test in Kodi and when using the NordVPN to connect in my country, the download speed was brutal on a server that had a 8% load, at a little better than half the speed of a direct connection to my ISP. I may cancel this service before the trial period ends.
Very good VPN, but why do I periodically have to keep having to re-sign in to my acct on same device? Fix please!
Argh why is it so inconsistent? I don't want to use VyprVPN again because of monthly cost but it looks like i might switch back or to another provider. Nord is slower and disconnects more frequently after the latest update.
This is a one stop service for all my devices. I run it one my phone, CPU, tablet, and router. It will let you double VPN and more. Super easy to use and doesn't break the bank. Best part, no logs.
Fixed a crash case which occurred to some users when starting the application.
