The Fundamentals of Faith by Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab (may God have mercy on him) is a concise and comprehensive book explaining the fundamentals of Islamic creed in a clear style based on the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet.

The book addresses the most important aspects of faith that every Muslim should know, including:

- Knowing and believing in God Almighty.

- Glorifying God as He deserves to be glorified, as revealed in His Book.

- Belief in predestination, both good and bad.

- Belief in the angels (peace be upon them).

- The commandment to adhere to the Book of God Almighty.

- Explaining the rights of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the obligation to follow his Sunnah.

- Encouraging the pursuit of Islamic knowledge and explaining its etiquette.

- Warning against hoarding knowledge.

Author:

He is Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab ibn Sulayman ibn Ali al-Tamimi, born in 1115 AH in the city of al-Uyaynah in Najd, in the Arabian Peninsula. He memorized the Quran before the age of ten and studied jurisprudence with his father. He was intelligent and an avid reader. The Sheikh traveled to Mecca, Medina, and Basra several times in pursuit of knowledge. In the city of Diriyah, he met Prince Muhammad ibn Saud, and they pledged allegiance to spread monotheism and establish God's rule on earth. He dedicated himself to calling people to God and faced difficulties in this endeavor, including being expelled by the people of Basra after he denounced their innovations and misguidance and criticized their scholars for their silence. He then left on foot towards al-Zubayr. He authored several highly beneficial books, the most important of which are "Kitab al-Tawhid" (The Book of Monotheism) and "Kitab al-Qawa'id al-Arba'" (The Book of the Four Principles). The Sheikh, may God have mercy on him, passed away in 1206 AH.

- The book addresses a number of issues related to faith. If someone were to try to explain them, they might have to fill a large volume. The book is organized into chapters of hadiths, grouped together. The author attempts to compile the hadiths in the manner of many hadith scholars who combine hadiths without commentary or annotation. In truth, this method is highly beneficial and has few drawbacks, though these may increase depending on the circumstances. Not everyone who hears a hadith understands it, and not everyone who hears it grasps the relevance of its inclusion in this chapter. Therefore, I believe that the excessive reading or listening to such books produces a group of people who understand nothing of those hadiths. I still remember how we used to recite many prophetic hadiths without understanding them. We became accustomed to not understanding them because some insisted that we read things exactly as they were written by their authors. From this arose the principle of "accept them as they came" as a general principle in education, which is fundamentally based on rote learning.

The book is beneficial and accessible to those whom God makes it easy for, but it needs a commentary from a contemporary scholar. It is a book that must be read.
