It's nice because I trust the company who made it, but it requires a constant internet connection. I can't even say "Timer 3 minutes" without requiring internet. This is ridiculously bad considering I have other tools that can understand my voice and type for me without internet. It doesn't understand some of the things I want it to, and always opens google for half of the stuff I say because it didn't understand where as other tools did. It does some things fine when the connection is active but, I just can't get used to this one. Also, it's weather feature doesn't say the temperature like I want it to. I'd also like to be able to say play music, and it open the playlist I specify from MortPlayer, rather than the crappy default apps. EDIT: 6/21/2017 For the last month now, whenever their update hit, a driver mode type notification pops up on my screen with every text message I get, and I can't disable it because there's no option to disable it at all. Even when I'm in the middle of texting on my phone with the text tool open and in the middle of the same window used to talk to the person I'm texting, this just keeps popping up. So, I've had it. Goodbye Nuance.
Overall I do like this app, as it's easy to use and it's a better text to speech than the stock one that Samsung provides, but there are just some changes I would like to see. The first thing I notice is it's not as accurate as the computer version. The second thing is that the "attentive mode" will turn on randomly despite me unchecking the options that turn it on except for "driving mode". Fortunately it hasn't happened, yet, but if I get a text message from a friend and it has profanity in it, I don't want my text to speech to randomly come on and play what's being texted out loud. Last bug I noticed was the option to play music. I say "Play Brad Paisley" but iIt won't play the song when I ask and I can't skip tracks because once the music is on, I don't have the ability to use Dragon anymore. I'm sure that once the bugs are fixed, I'll love this app.. Thanks!
Assistance.AI vs Dragon Assistant I tried the AI first, not really liking it much due to the most convenient features being for premium users. This app, in the other hand, is great as well, though a few more accents/voices would be much appreciated, even the ability to download new ones from third parties that can be set up for it; (that'd be worth paying for.) Otherwise, have not only YouTube/Google Music be default music apps, but also the default phone's music player. I get it to open, but not play a song without having to open GM.
The Best Virtual Assistant This is the best virtual assistant that i have been able to find. I love that i can choose it's name and that it opens upon verbal command. I had a little getting used to the texting because i didnt realize that i could revise the text or add to it without using the keyboard but now that i know all the commands its so much easier to send texts hands free. I love this app.
Really *handy* for driving. It's fun to give her a funny name. You can enter your name but she never says it. Would have been 5 stars but she doesn't always come up when in background. Even in attentive mode. And sometimes she just sort of ... Stops. And then you have to restart. Still, Great app! Update, she's stopped speaking to me. Only when greeting. After that, she talks, but there's tension going on. She couldn't still be mad that I asked about contact and Siri? She's gotta let that go! Still 4 stars (4.5) just waiting for a couple of minor bugs to fixed. Highly recommend.
This app is by far best than some of the others but I haven't tried all of them. I can send text messages or make phone calls or add alarms or events without touching my phone as it understands you perfectly no problems. An idea for the developer, make an update where you can send messages through Facebook Messenger just like text message because that app is becoming very big with messaging.
