PROS ... Swype works very well. Word selection, cutting and copying gestures come in handy. Voice to Text recognizes unique symbols ... CONS ... the pricing scheme for themes is insane. are you that greedy where you are charging $0.99 extra just to get alternate keys? $0.99 for for blue theme and then $0.99 for blue theme with alternate keys!!!! That's insane and you need to put a stop to it or you are going to lose users. voice to text freezes frequently and is not as fast as Google's voice to text. This is issue has been going on for some time. Also losing the numeric row because you put symbols on the keyboard is ridiculous. Anyway they need to focus less on gimmicky themes and more on improvements. UPDATE ... If you disable detecting end of speech it looks like the voice to text freezes had a lot less issues. Hopefully this keeps up but it would be nice to see an update and improving the freezing issue when the other setting is enabled. There is still a lot to like about this keyboard because it does a lot better compared to others.
5 stars for being able to theme, I already purchased the app. Why should I have to pay more for additional themes. ESPECIALLY if development for the app was halted for so long.. I keep using the app because it's the most accurate, however it's growing increasingly less accurate as time progresses. Even when I turn all the syncing and stuff off and clear the app data. Does anyone know a better keyboard? I'll gladly make the switch. Furthermore, why is secondary keys AND number row a binary issue? That's retarded.
It keeps changing stupid words like to becomes tio all the time. I thought it was supposed to learn, not get stupider! Dictation works great sometimes, then somethings it just freezes. Wish it worked offline like Google dictation does. I love the layout with the arrow keys, makes it so easy to select text to cut, copy or replace. Of all the keyboards I've tried it is still my favorite but I wish it worked better. I don't give a Damn about themes, I like functionality....please!
For some reason, since the last update, if Swype hasn't recognised the word I want to input correctly, it doesn't give me a list of alternatives to choose from across the top of the keyboard anymore. This isn't for all apps and seems to be mostly confined to Google chrome and only after having moved on from that particular word and then clicking back on it to re-select and look for alternative words. To add to this Swype seems to randomly change a word I want to use to another it thinks I want after I've tipped the next one or two words in a sentence. Please stop doing this.
Something about the "?123" keyboard mode: I noticed that tapping spacebar in this mode would return to normal typing mode immediately. I don't find this feature useful. Maybe it should be an optional feature. But I appreciate the double tap spacebar to enter period feature. While this feature isn't configurable in the settings, it only takes place when you double tap right after an English letter. I think it's a clever design.
What happened Swype? I recommended you to everyone! I used the older Swype on Note 2 & 3, and it was fabulous! Great word prediction, it knew to make the right corrections, great word replacement, and now that I'm on a different phone, using Swype Dragon, it's lacking so much. Dragon makes changes, even when you've already changed the word! And, even my mom's words are horribly wrong, after she switched to Swype, upon my suggestion. Please finesse this, so we can go back to loving Swype!
