I'm not sure why this game has such rave reviews. You open it up, click a few buttons that have relatively small impact on the game, then close it for the next 15 - 30 minutes while you wait for numbers to fill up. While the game may be long, the time spent playing it is very small and it feels incredibly grindy. If I want to slowly progress through something primarily with time I'll go adult. I play games for instant gratification, challenge, a sense of accomplishment, etc. And this game didn't provide any of that.
This is an amazing game, if you love simulation games, and love cats. It costs the same as a soda does and last way longer, no ads, its crazy how used to not paying for cool stuff we are we pass it up. Just buy it like you would any other thing you pay a dollar for and dont think about, and be blown away.
This is the deepest idle game that I have found to date. It's like real time civilization with an awesome theme. My only complaint is lack of graphics, I'd love to see some icons to represent my kittens and buildings, particularly if they showed progress/changes/growth, however the game still captures a lot of flavor through the descriptive text. I'd even be content if the graphics were on a separate tab, so I could go appreciate my city while waiting for resources to trickle in. Other than that, I have no complaints. The biggest benefit of this game over other idle games is that it's a complete single player game - I don't have to watch adds, I don't have to buy in game currency to speed things up, I don't have to participate in stupid weekly contests against other players, I don't have to defend all my hard work against attacks. It fixes the number one problem so many of these types of games have.
I love the kittens game but I cannot stand the ui on the app. It is way too difficult to toggle between different screens. Could you implement a swipe to switch feature (for example, swiping left to get from bonfire to village). Even just a menu at the top of the screen to switch (like in the browser UI) would be a vast improvement. I just can't play this game with 3 tap switching.
Good port of the pc version, but I would like it if you could toggle getting resources while not playing on or off because it doesn't feel like an incremental if I leave for a few hours and come back only to find all my resources maxed out. (Edit) I am lowering my score to ones star since I have waited since the app released to have an option to turn off offline progression. The inability to do this has ruined the game for me. I do not see any reason to play if all I do is turn the game off then come back days later withe everything maxed out. I hate to have to give a score that low but I find the issue to be gamebreaking.
Played no life this game on desktop and probably going to no life this game on mobile phone till my battery dies or I rot to death. 5 stars
